I went with this company based on the positive reviews, but did NOT have a positive experience with then overall!! The 2 men came to my house to install a new well pump and left not a few, but a lot of muddy footprints on my carpet. Had they told me ahead of time what to expect, I could have laid towels down to protect the area. He only apologized and offered no assistance at the time to address the issue. I waited for the bill to come to see if they would make an adjustment, or give a credit to allow for carpet to be cleaned. When I called the office to address the issue, owner (woman) barely let me speak, kept interrupting and called me "pushy" and "an obnoxious customer". I can now understand the negative review saying something similar. I was happy with the work, but not how they handled the damage they did. Totally rude and unprofessional behavior!! I would not recommend them based on damage down to carpet, and not even offering to rectify the situation along with the rude follow up afterwards.

Early morning we noticed that we had no water. We tried checking everything from our end (switches, breakers, etc...) but couldn't figure out what was going on.
We called Yeager Well, and spoke with Dave Yeager. Dave talked me through a couple other things to check, which didn't reveal the problem. Dave said he was on his way out and would come by our location. He stopped by, and was able to test and find that the well-pump wasn't getting any power.
He scheduled his repair-crew to come by our home when they completed their scheduled assignments that day. The crew came by later that afternoon, pulled the pump finding that the electric power line was rubbed through in several places AND that whomever had replaced the electric line previously had not used the right wire, nor did they connect the ground wire.
We determined the pump was from the late 80's. With that knowledge we asked Yeager Well to replace the pump, the power supply line and the PVC water supply line. The crew had all the necessary materials on their truck to effect the replacement and repairs. The work was done immediately.
We highly recommend Yeager Well Drilling and Pumps.

Excellent company! We'd noticed the ground wet around our well head while everything else in the yard was dry. After a few weeks we saw that water was welling out of the electrical conduit. I found Yeager Well Drilling and Pumps on Angie's list, called and crew of 3 were out the next day. They took one look and said they knew what the problem was. They excavated the leak site with a 4'x4'x5'deep hole beside the well pipe (the guy on the backhoe was incredibly skilled), replaced the broken plastic adapter/thingy with brass fittings and clamps, fixed the broken conduit, added a new up-to-code well cap, filled the hole and were done with the job in a timely manner. Very pleasant crew, polite and willing to provide answers to my questions, and they paid attention to detail. They offered a few suggestions on how to increase my water supply and promised to have the boss send me two quotes regarding that information. I received the quotes within 48 hours. I'll definitely be using Yeager again for any well/water needs as I appreciate the quality work and the professionalism displayed by the crew.

I was never told how much, if any, the service call would be. I was never asked to authorize the cost of the service. I was not told by the technicians when they left that there would be invoice coming on the amount of the invoice. I thought since nothing was found to repair that the call was gratis. I was never given an estimate of any costs. I thought for the services rendered, “showed customer how to backwash filter”, that $140 was excessive. I believe a reasonable amount would have been half that amount, which given the services rendered had Yeager chose to provide the education gratis I would have been very likely to use them in the future when actual repairs were needed.I believe not allowing the use of credit cards to protect my useof your firm’s services is troubling.
Also, they claim I only have issues with sand in the well, when I also deal with high levels of iron and sulfur (when gone for extended periods of time on travel) for which they offered no solutions on correcting,
I expected a much higher level of service from Yeager since they came as a recommendation from Pete the Plumber. I will find a different company in the future.

Response from Yeager Well Drilling And Pumps
"Anytime we have to send a service crew (with a stocked truck) to a home there will be a service charge. Including travel to and from the job site I have wages to pay for 1 1/2 hours for 2 men plus the cost of fuel for the truck, plus the cost to maintain the truck, insurance and a long list of cost just to stay in business. I personally talked with the customer on the phone before sending the crew. I attempted to find out if there was something he could do on his own to improve his water pressure. He did not know enough about his system to let me help him. I try very hard to educate all customers about private water systems when I talk to them on the phone, but if a customers does not know enough about his private water system to answer certain questions, then I can't help them and a service call is necessary to solve the problem. The men showed the Member what he needed to do in the future to back wash the filter. Unfortunately, when a customer has a filter that is collecting sand it means there is a problem with his well. A well should never make sand. The age of the well and the construction of the well is the reason for the problem with sand. The iron and smell can be improved by cleaning the well, but that is not something that is done on a service call. It involves equipment, treatment and labor and the cost is a minimum of $750.00. But Mr Robbeloth never called back to express any concern with the service call or let us know that he had additional problems. I do not apologize for having to charge for a service call and I am insulted that any customer would think that a first time visit by our company would be free of charge. We service many customers in a years time and most are completely satisfied with our service. We can only correct what we know about. We did not drill the well for this customer or install any of the pumping system or water treatment. We were only asked to find out why he had low water pressure, which is what my service crew did. I invoiced the customer on August 7, 2012 and I received payment on the invoice September 17, 2012. He never called the office to express any concern over the invoice or any dissatisfaction with the service given. I only received a check and a nasty note. I did not respond to his note. I am sorry that he felt we over charged him but I am only trying to stay in business for the customers that do need us and to do that I need to be compensated for the labor and equipment cost for a service call. Sincerely, Carleen Yeager"
