A month or so later, rain would go over the gutter system and on to the ground. It was winteer and ice formed so the company could not fix the problem. I understood this at the time.
Spring rains started early in 2011 (around Feb) so I contacted them again to fix the problem. Gutter installer (contractor) came to the house several times and attempted to fix the problem without any luck.
During the summer of 2011 the company send another gutter contractor to fix the problem. He removed the gutter gualrd system and installed another gutter cover system. He also reinstalled some of the gutters to fix the slope. This still did not solve the gutter overflow problem.
In 2011 Aug I sent a letter to Ultra Guard telling them that I either wanted the gutters fixed or a refund of the cost of the gutters. Also, I wanted compensation for the removal of the gutter guard system that I pruchased and was removed. I gave them 30 days to respond and fix them problem. I alos noted that as far as I know, no one from the company has come to my house and looked at the gutter system while it was raining. They have been relying on my non-expert opinion on how to fix the problem.
Around this time, the contractor figured out that no flashing was installed between the gutter and the roof - something that should always be done (according to people in the business I have spoken to). The company had a "roofer" install flashing behind the gutters, however, in doing so, he caused damage to the roof.
I received a response through the sub-contractor telling me that someone from the office would call to set an appointment. I never received a call or letter from them.
I have been ill so I have not been able to communicate witht them again until now.
Because of their inability to fix the gutter problem, I am now forced to hire another contractor to take care of the problem. Shortly, I will be contacting the company demanding that I am refunded the cost of the Ultra Guard gutter system ($2,500).
PLEASE NOTE: I am very satisfied with the work done on the roof except for the damage done to it later by the roofer contractor. Also, I have found out the the cost of the work that was preformed was very high above market pricing.
