Bartels able to schedule service the earliest out of 3 vendors. All polite and willing but just busy. Bartels Rep actually showed up 5 hours earlier due to a canceled customer. Tested the cooling system found it to be low on coolant. Told me what he needed to do and checked the system after recharging. Stayed until he made sure all was working.

Shocked and disappointed as a long time customer. In late September 2017 we had a new furnace installed. We chose to delay replacing the A/C because it functioned perfectly. The next day the weather called for using the A/C -- I thought I noticed the unit never shut off and the house never "felt" cool, but we were in and out all day, gone for several hours so I figured it was just me. A few days followed when we didn't need the A/C. When, about 4 or 5 days later, I ran the A/C again it wasn't "just me." The A/C ran continuously and didn't cool the house. I called Bartel's and a tech came out -- we had a failed valve in the A/C. I called the salesman and asked about damage done from the furnace install. I was told the A/C system had been emptied and recharged as part of the install. That the A/C was old and the valve must have failed on recharge -- in other words "Not our problem. Too bad, so sad." Could it have been overcharged or any other installation reason the unit failed? I'm not an expert so I don't know. What I do know is one day my A/C is fine (current contract with Bartel's, they serviced it in May, all pressures were correct and the system operated perfectly through the summer) and the next day it is broken, after they serviced it, and I'm 100% responsible, not them!

On Jan 1, one of the coldest days of the year, the heating oil furnace stopped working. We have a maintenance contract with Bartels. Not only was someone at the house in a timely manner, he was courteous, thorough, and professional. Instead of just settling on the first, most costly option, he tried a couple of different approaches. Finally, he determined that the fuel line just might need to be blown out - since we’d also gotten a delivery of oil that morning which probably stirred up sediment. That did the trick! Wonderful service.

As it turned out, there was something lodged in the compressor that was inhibiting it from turning. They were quick in finding the problem and resolving the issue. They were fast, professional, and offered advice about the longevity of our current system.

Jim came out many hours earlier than expected. He was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Though I own an older unit, Jim didn't press me to buy a new unit (though he did point out reasons why I might want to.) I felt comfortable with his explanation of what he found and its resolution. Jim simply did a great job and Bartels will have my return business, especially when I do need a new unit, because of my experience today.

Of the 5 companies that bid on my job, Bartel's was the lowest price. The work was completed in 2 days. The men were on time and very conscientious to keep me informed as to their progress. The area of the newly installed equipment was as clean or cleaner than when they had first begun. My system passed inspection without any problems whatsoever. I am VERY happy with their work and price.

I called this company late Friday afternoon, right after I discovered the A/C was not working. I called a handful of places and had no luck finding someone who could come on Saturday morning to look at it. Bartels Heating & Cooling had an opening available for 8-noon Saturday morning. Steve arrived sometime after 10:00 am and looked at my A/C unit and told me that I had a bad capaciter and some melted wires. He quoted me between $300-$400 to fix it right then, which sounded reasonable to me. He had the A/C fixed within an hour and I could feel the cool air immediately after it was fixed! I had purchased a deal off of Angie's List the day before for $81 to cover the service call (10% off $90 price), and the bill for the work the next day was $250, so $330 seemed pretty reasonable to get the A/C fixed on such short notice. Note: I have not been to the house since Saturday (it is Tuesday) to make sure the A/C is still operating, but I will update after this weekend when I go over there again.

Very well, they put in the new furnace and air conditioning unit and added a humidifier to the furnace. That was in 2012 and we have a service contract with them to come and service it every fall and spring. We are very happy with Bartel's and would highly recommend them.

They were very professional and offered both long term and short term solutions to our AC problems. Instead of telling us we needed a new AC system right away, they explained that our issue could be fixed in the short term with a low cost repair, but that we should start planning for a major replacement of the system in the future. It was great to have someone offer us both options instead of just trying to get us to pay for a full replacement right away!

They waited a year after they installed. We have a deal where they come and check the filter and our humidifier part of the furnace. I don't know exactly what they do, but they just do an inspection to make sure everything was alright.
