Great - they were quick and it looks wonderful

Yard Solutions did a nice job of removing the existing brick patio and installing a new and larger bluestone patio that looks great. The blend of new and existing landscaping around the patio also looks great. Eric did a great job working with us on the plan design and also was flexible as we changed our ideas and he was also very helpful in suggesting options. The company was also very good about coming out after the work was done to make some minor adjustments and re-seed the grass that was torn up during construction.

We got four quotes before selecting Yard Solutions for our landscape re-do. Their price was in the middle. We chose YS, which we found through a friend referral, because we thought designer Steve Graham listened best and understood our vision for the yard. He also was the most helpful and flexible in 1) altering his plan to meet our needs after the initial drawing, and 2) helping us chip away at the "dream plan" to get the total project down to our budget. There was a slight delay getting started in the fall but communication was good. Cold weather came early and so completion had to be held over until spring. Again, communication was good and we were happy with the process. Some plants that were put in late in the fall died over the winter and they replaced them. When we did not like the shape of the Japanese maple they brought us, they took it away and Steve met us at the nursery to help us select one we'd like. The lighting failed six months out and they fixed it, no charge. The crews were pleasant and respectful. Our only complaint was that stone cutting was conducted with the garage open and dust covered our bicycles, etc, and that the foreman would not wear a mask, which worried us. YS should require masks. We took care of the bikes (they apologized for the oversight) and YS powerwashed the driveway to get rid of the residue. BEST OF ALL, we absolutely love the results. The brick patio was beautifully designed and installed with extreme care and craftsmanship. We had been planning bluestone but chose brick to save money and are glad we did because it's gorgeous. The pergola is beautiful and works well in the space. Simply said, we couldn't be happier and we feel we made the right choice of provider for this project. We believe the relatively minor changes in front yard have vastly improved the curb appeal of our house, and the changes in the backyard have increased our home's value. Especially to us! We use the patio every day.

The designer was very responsive to our wishes and addressed out situation in a way that worked with the existing landscaping on our property.  The work was done professionally and on time.  The company guaranteed the work and the materials.  We are extremely happy with the end result and have received numerous compliments from neighbors.  We highly recommend the company and especially our designer, Bud Gard.

Workers were here promptly at 8 am. They promptly went to work pulling the weeds trimming all the bushes and hedges and cutting in the edge trenches of all the flower bed and tree borders. We have a sizeable amount of flower beds and borders so this is no easy task. They were very meticulous in all the work they performed. All the mulch was put precisely around the flower and bushes... We have never been so happy with the quality of the work performed by Rob and Cody and they other helper. They cleaned up everything before they left... THANK YOU!

We needed to have pine trees planted to provide a privacy line in our backyard. They came in quickly and got the job done wonderfully! The workers were VERY meticulous cleaning up better than we would have ourselves. They reseeded the areas the machines were on and EVEN came back a couple days later to check on how everything was! AMAZING company!

The initial meeting process was very easy and they kept us very informed of our start date/ changes. They instaleld bluestone over our existing porch, tore up our entire front and back yard, regraded the back, installed a small retaining wall, brick patio, crushed granite walkways, raised beds, inground fire pit and rough cut oack benches. Basically our whole yard is hardscaped now, no grass. It looks wonderful and the quality is top notch.
They didn't tell us in advanced when they were not going to be on site a few times. Once requested that they do so (we put our dog in daycare the days they didn't come) they were much better about it.
We did have some issues along the way, but nothing that isn't to be expected on a job of this size. We refered back to the contract, one item was a miss on our part so we had to add on. A few were misses on their part and they fixed without complaint. The punch out process was very easy and they corrected everything to our liking. To be clear, I am pretty nit picky so they weren't major issues. Very pleased with how professional they were especially when we had disagreements about what was in vs. out of scope.

Cleanup crew arrived on time and completly removed and cleaned all the landscape beds around the house. The installation was

scheduled later and the installation crew spend more then a week installing rocks , trees , bushes and flowering plants. The management was very accommodating in working with us on the selection and placement of flowering plants and bushes. They also worked to satisfy us on small details of the design.

Yard Solutions did an amazing job of designing and installing our patio, small water feature and landscaping. Eric Remeis presented a beautiful design of tempered bluestone, a water feature with small waterfall and rock pool, and a creative assortment of shrubs and perennial plants. The two-person crew was amazing. Before beginning the installation, they had to demolish a deck and concrete patio. Project leader Drew communicated with us on every issue and coordinated with the electrician, plumber and irrigation system company to have everyone do their part so there were no stoppages. The bluestone design was perfect. Drew placed the different sized and varied color stones in a very attractive pattern. The plants are of good quality. After completing the installation, the crew repaired the lawn damage caused by heavy trucks by spreading topsoil then seeding the area and covering it with straw. I highly recommend Yard Solutions.

The team from Yard Solutions did a terrific job. The designer worked with us to come up with a plan that was terrific and stayed connected to the job throughout the process. The team from Yard Solutions were friendly and reliable...as they have been in the past. This is the second time I have used this company for extensive yard/patio work...each time the outcome was terrific. I had a number of employees from the company keeping close tabs on the work and keeping me informed. The coordination with other contractors working on our house was terrific...I could rely on the team to connect and work together. Everyone who visits loves the yard.

I've had fantastic experiences with Yard Solutionsand hellip; Based on the magnitude of work that we wanted to do around our new residence, Yard Solutions partnered with me to establish an initial landscaping plan and execute it in phases to make the various projects work within a multi-year budget. Initially they installed my foundational landscape, including all plant materials, stone front patio and a multi-level rear patio complete with raised planters. In the following years we added full landscape lighting and extended the raised planters to the lower level patio. I've always been impressed with the creativity in the designs, the plant selections and their openness to my high-expectations. It was obvious to me that Yard Solutions wanted to make my outdoor environment to truly be an extension of my home. Further, I've been pleased with the open lines of communications, alternatives provided when adjustments had to be made, and the quality and the durability of their work. Yard Solutions has also performed annual maintenance for me to ensure that the plants are appropriately pruned and continue to fit within our plan. I would not hesitate to use them again (and again).

One of the worst experiences of my life. Never contacted us in advance as to when they were starting our project. Didn't contact our landscape architect in advance so she could help choose plant quality. Patio was put in above grade in backyard, and eventually had to be removed due to improper installation. Our pondless waterfall was put in incorrectly, and facing the wrong way.

Plants were of inferior quality and often the wrong type ( a white bud tree instead of red as requested, plants installed above ground with their roots exposed, as per our quote we were suppose to pick out the type of dogwoods in front yard, they never asked us and put in poorly shaped, poor quality and again wrong color.They installed new landscaping in front on top of our current irrigation system causing thousands of dollars of damage.

They installed our bluestone walkway during a snowstorm and without our knowledge. We had contacted them before our vacation and they said it would be at least one more month before they could start. We were informed a week later, while on vacation, that we had Yard Solutions in our front yard tearing everything out. Since we were not home they installed new front porch above grade and didn't check if downspouts worked that they put the new porch around. We know have to remove the porch to dig new drain tiles and install new downspouts, the bluestone rocks in places, and the driveway section does not have a proper base installed so our cars will eventually ruin the $10,000.00 walkway.

Unfortunately, the list continues but I don't have the time to list everything.

I would never use this company again and would caution anyone against using them. I did contact the owner, he took 6 months to finally meet with me. He would not walk the property to view the inferior job that was done, but he did offer to let me work with them again.

Yard Solutions staff is courteous and professional. They called the day before to tell me they were coming. They worked with me to make sure I liked the placement of the new plants and play set. They were here about 3 days completing the entire job. And they sent out someone after the job was complete to inspect the job and make sure I was satisfied.

The designer was excellent and knowledgeable. Some of the shrubs put in were wilted and broken, some were not properly planted. The water feature shut off valve did not work and was replaced three times. It appeared no one knew what they were doing, and had never done it before. Phone calls were not returned. Complaints to the BBB were made. Finally going back to the designer and going to the president of the company got service people back. Also went to the supplier of the water feature directly to tell YS what to look for. They are anxious to get the job, but have no follow up. Will NOT recommend. It took almost one year to resolve .

The service went well! They were reponsive and very professional. The quality was high and the service was good, specifically good customer relations.

We love the work that they had done, the work was pretty expensive but the work was fabulous. The company seemed very well run and they met our expectations.

They provide excellent services, the gardens look spectacular all of the time.

We hired Yard Solutions in November of 2008 and to this day the work has not been completed according to our contract. The company didn't complete ANY work without extensive calls, emails and complaints. It was a full time job just sending emails, making calls and constantly checking on their work. The only responses we ever received were to "thank us for our patience". We had to pay another gardener to go through the entire plan because we were convinced that the work was not correct and discovered that they failed to install over 60 plants that they claimed had been planted. The fence had numerous issues that took us over 6 months to resolve after several calls and meetings. Finally, the irrigation system is installed incorrectly. The system was completed in June, 2009, but we have had constant problems with it. Yard Solutions never would acknowledge any problems even after: 1) Negligent plumbing of the system flooded our basement causing over $4000 in damage (the insurance company for the subcontractor paid the claim). 2) The water distribution was so bad (2" of standing water in some areas and no water to others) that we also had to hire a certified irrigation auditor to review the entire system to independently establish all the problems. Even after the auditor concluded that the irrigation system had been incorrectly designed and installed, Yard Solutions has not made any repairs. 3) We exchanged numerous emails, had meetings, and made calls, but Yard Solutions kept assuring us that the subcontractor would fix the problems. 3) We retained an attorney to write them a letter detailing the progression of events and they also failed to respond to the letter. We are at a total loss about how this company even stays in business if they treat their customers this way.

They are friends of ours. They were a little slow. It looks good. The mulch we chose brought up the price.

The experience with them was fine. I had very competetive plans presented to me, and I liked their plan the best. There was a graze that they missed, that cost me a couple hundred dollars. They really should have paid for it, but for the amount it cost, the couple hundred didn't really make a different. The work was done well, and I am happy. The price was competetive to the other, but not any cheaper.

I wanted to fix up my house to get it ready to sell. I called to have them come out to get ideas for what I could do for "curb appeal" because of the reports I had seen on Angie's List. They were punctual in coming out and looking at the house. I was told that there would be a $250.00 design fee with half paid up front. They took pictures and talked to me about ideas, took my check for $125.00 and said they would be in touch. I had to contact them one month later. They apologized for the delay and said they didn't know where the time went. They called a week later and made arrangements to come out with a design. If I would have had them do the work they proposed, it would have cost over $6,500.00. At this point, I had already decided I did not want to do business with this company. From the other reviews I had read on Angie's List, the design people had gotten back to home owners in a week. I figured since I didn't live in an upper class home and it wasn't going to be a big money making job for them, it wasn't worthy of good service. I had left messages with Eric Remeis stating specifically that I did not want to deal with the design guy (Steve) because I was unhappy that he had not gotten back to me and every time, Steve was the one that called me back. Some worthy, hard working company will get my money and hopefully be happy to have it.
