I have worked with Tom Yontz of Yontz Builders for 15 years on many home-related projects. I always recommend him and his team to all of my family and friends because I know he is very competent, trustworthy and honest. It is rare to find someone you can trust so completely. He is very cost conscious and you know that he will give good advice regarding the need to repair or replace. Tom Yontz is able do jobs of all sizes – from replacing exterior cedar planks to complete home renovations.
I just completed a total kitchen remodeling project and Mr. Yontz served as the general contractor. It was a six month long project and my husband and I are thrilled with the results. Tom Yontz’s employees removed the old kitchen cabinets, counters, and appliances carefully so we could re-sell them. They then prepped the kitchen for the new cabinets and appliances.Tom Yontz reviewed our plans designed by a well-known Columbus custom cabinet maker. Tom caught a problem with the design due to the height of a soffit and connecting wall. It was something that we didn’t see on a two dimensional plan and we were so glad Tom suggested an alternative design. He also gave us great advice regarding the size and placement of the kitchen island so that it would work well with traffic flow. And after the beautiful painted cabinets were installed, Tom insisted I ask the cabinet maker to provide “stoppers” on the hinges to protect the cabinet doors from getting dings. Tom procured and supervised the plumber and electricians. Tom’s crew moved walls, did the drywall work, moved duct work and did support work for the appliances such as the opening for the cook top vent.
His guys always arrived on time and cleaned up at the end of every day. They were very nice and friendly and have worked with Tom for a number of years. One of my favorites is Jesse Maxeiner who is very talented at a number of home remodeling tasks. One time Jesse repaired a 5 inch round hole in a hollow door. You would never know a hole had been there. It saved us from replacing the entire door.
While we were working on the kitchen, Tom Yontz’s employees also built a deck in our back yard. Tom said the deck is so solid that we could “park a truck on it” – which I believe!
We have our own small business and we think we give very good customers service so of course we expect the same from others. We believe in doing things right and are fairly demanding customers. Tom Yontz has always lived up to our expectations and that is why we have worked with him so long. If you are doing any home renovation work, you owe it to yourself to interview Tom Yontz.

He was recommended to me by a friend. Everything was reasonably priced and he was always on time to the appointments. Everything was of great quality as well. He is going to do further work for me in the future on my basement.

Considering that our contractor, Tom Yontz, had never even heard of and had never ever used the InSoFast panels before, and considering that the rubble stone walls in our basement wall are so extremely irregular, we'd say that the installation went beautifully.

Tom and his team were wonderful to work with from start to finish.... our home remodel project was a massive job. My husband and I purchased a 100 year old home in Marble Cliff which needed plumbing, electric, and several cosmetic updates. Not only did we remodel the existing structure, but we added a two-car garage, family room, master bedroom, master bath, laundry room and kitchenette. Juggling the remodel with the new construction was a challenge but Tom handled the entire project with a sense of calm and control. Tom was very cost-conscious as well. In fact, he worked very closely with us to make sure that we understood the trade-off's and cost increases due to our material choices. Overall, Mike and I would highly recommend Tom and Yontz Builders for any size remodel or new construction project! March 29, 2012

I needed a back yard shed, which needed to be more than your regular "Home Depot or Bargin store" shed. Yontz builders was able to listen to my needs in regard to the shed, and appropriately built the perfect housing unit for my riding mower. The contractor shopped for basic shed kits, and reviewed the choices with me, and then purchased the kit along with other needed materials to "customize" my unit. The workers showed up on time, worked continuously, cleaned up afterwards, and haul all scrapes and debris away. The shed was a 8 X 10 that stands 12 feet high. The basic shed itself, did not come with the proper flooring or bracing for floor, to with stand the constant weight of the lawn tractor. This company laid additional flooring, added supports, built a custom ramp for easy access, finished the roof with "actual" roof shingles, and returned the following day to caulk, seal and paint open edges of fiberboard used for the sheds side walls. The unit looks great and the added touches ensured that this shed will last many years. Without this contactors experience and ability to "listen" to my needs, I would of never recieved anything of this quality from any other contractor.

Tom is a very nice guy and we felt very comfortable having him in our home. His ability to hang cabinets is outstanding. He used subs for some electrical and his skills with other items such as molding, and drywall are average. We have had to repair his drywall and touch up the molding. We would use him again for small projects.

Tom's company coordinated with a glass replacement company to replace all of the glass panes in our windows. This saved a lot of money over replacing the whole window units. Tom knows his trade very well and is very informative on a wide range of remodeling/handyman projects.

Tom is very personable and is very good at discussing and explaining what needs to be done and why. Many contractors don't have the gift of communication. This goes a long way towards being able to build trust and relationship with a contractor, and Tom does well with this! I plan to use his company for services in the future.

The bathroom needed a total renovation and we contacted Tom for an estimate based upon the materials that we had selected. The job went very well and we are pleased with the results. Tom either did the work or oversaw the work. The job was completed within the cost estimates and looks wonderful, although it took a few weeks longer than anticipated.

Our overall experience was extremely satisfactory. Tom met with us first to look at the bathroom that needed the work. After submitting his estimate, we then met at the hardware store. He was able to give good advice as to what fixtures to buy. Work began within a week. Tom came out the first day and thoroughly explained to his work crew just what we wanted done. During the course of the 4-day remodel, he stayed in touch with us by phone to make sure we were still happy. After the crew completed the work, Tom came out again to inspect their work. Tom's crew was great. Since this was our only bathroom that was being remodeled, they were very cognizant of getting the job done quickly. One worker even came in on a Saturday. Tom and his crew were terrific to work with!!!!

Tom was always on time and very good with communication. He is very easy to reach by phone. It was important to us that we have a reliable person with outstanding character work in our home. We got both.
