Excellent! They were done in 3 days, and it looks wonderful. A little slow with communication and scheduling in the beginning, but remained professional and did a great job. I have recommended them several times to other neighbors and friends.

Great to work with - good communication throughout the process . Quick response to my request for a quote which was competitive with others I received. Work was started when indicated. We had 2 retaining walls (the larger one 6.5 ft. tall x 43 ft) and steps replaced. The 2 person crew was on time, worked all day (weather permitting for February). Their work in integrating the steps was impressive; and we appreciated the precision in cutting the caps and ensuring the corners were mitered exactly. Looks great. We are very happy with the outcome and have some additional work we will be using them for in the future.

Got an estimate in the spring and signed a contract to re-level the hardscaping. They didn’t get us fit in until early fall but we had told them that we were in no rush. The finished product looks GREAT! They worked on more areas than the bid indicated. They were super efficient, moved a couple heavy items and left zero mess. I would definitely hire again!

We love the walkway that was installed! It is functional AND beautiful. Southern Grove Landscaping is a small operation, so we had to wait for a couple of months to begin the job. Once the job was initiated, it only took a few days to complete. When they left, only about 3 inches on either side of the walk was affected, and they finished that with soil and grass seed. They originally planned to use digging equipment to prepare the job, but later determined it was not possible to get the equipment in our small entry gate. They respectfully prepared the job by hand, without charging us extra. We could not be happier with the quality of work. The quote was similar to others, and they came out to discuss options with us before sending a quote.

They did an excellent Job. The job was so great that i actually referred them over to my sister.

The guys were great to work with. They were very respectful and helpful.

Very frustrating. I could have been scheduled it with someone else and had it done within these last six weeks.

Rich came to my house to look at the wall and count the number of railroad ties that he would replace--11. He was my lowest of three quotes, chiefly because the other two weren't willing just to replace the rotted beams. So I went with this company. They worked on two separate days, and the job was finished within a week of starting. The wall looks much better now.

We worked with Rich Cassidy of Southern Grove to design and build new patio for our home. I provided him with our ideas and as this is our first home & patio we were very pleased to receive honest feedback and ideas from him on how to make the design even better. Throughout the design and estimate process he was very prompt in his responses to questions and giving us an estimate. His son Brian led the work on building out the patio and we were very impressed by his quality of work. Our patio design included a rectangular paver patio with built-in grill area, stone bench, and cedar plank bench along with a circular area surrounded by a seating wall. He gave his ideas on design and finishing as he went and at every turn we loved his creative ideas - we were really looking for something that would be differentiated and he delivered! He did this work with NO damage to the lawn/sod around the patio - we felt they truly cared for how they did the work, taking the time to make sure it was done right and no corners were cut. In addition to the hardscaping, they did landscaping around the patio and planted a maple tree along the side of our home. I was impressed with Rich's knowledge of what types of plants would complement the patio and provide shade/privacy down the line. When the project was finished there were no surprises versus his estimate - the invoice was right in line with our expectations. We are in love with our new outdoor space and have already received many compliments from friends, family, and neighbors! We will go to Southern Grove first in the future if we have other landscaping needs!

Rich and his team did an excellent job communicating with us about the job they would do and even came out and completed the project while we were both at work. Also, SGL had the lowest cost estimate of the companies we contacted. We would use them again!

It was good. They took a little time to get to me, but when they did get to me they did a good job. they were professional and courteous.

Rich Cassidy, the owner, responded immediately to my call and was professional throughout the process.  It was very hard to get a crew out to start because of all the rain we were having and that put us and other customers in a waiting list.  They also had  big projects going on, but eventually a crew of five was able to come out and do the work around the house.  When completed, it looked wonderful.  I had to wait a couple of weeks, but eventually two workers came out and completed the leveling, weeding and mulching around our fence line.  They did a good job, but one patch contained a rosebud tree which was not centered in the mulch bed.  Rich came out and personally corrected and mulched  the outline. He did a very good job. 
Overall, I was very pleased with the work and the workers were all very pleasant.  Rich was excellent to deal with and I would use his company again.

They showed up with five guys and took a good part of the day to finished.  Very nicely.

Asked for info on Angies List website about senior discount ..He replied
right back...then asked him to come out for estimate on job .. 5 days
later still NO response....told him I would be going with someone else
since he never got back with me.

I am extremely pleased with all work performed.and will use Southern Grove Landscaping again and highly recommend him and his staff
