The Ike remnant winds took a large tree from the soil conservancy down, onto the electrical wires which pulled the transformer pole, snapped the pole depositing the transformer into our planting bed just missing the drive way. The pull of the wires, pulled the weather head, and associated wires from the house. On our walk to find coffee the next morning, we ran into Kent Clark, owner of a maintenance company, who was in the midst of talking with Bobby Jr, notifying him of possible homes that would need electrical work from the storm. Kent gave Bobby our address. Bobby arrived at our home within a couple of hours, assessed the damage. My husband accepted his offer to come back to do the work. When Bob Sr showed up later that same day, he estimated $500.00 for the replacement. We accepted the estimate and he got to work. His son came to help after having completed a different job. The two of them had the weather head replaced by 5:00 PM-6:00 PM. Amazing. We brought the checkbook out and he said he'd bill us. Another amazing act of kindness. A week or so later, the bill arrived as promised and less than the 500.00. They cleaned up all that was involved in their job, gave us some thoughts of which wires to watch while waiting for the utility company to recover the transformer etc. We had the weather head in place so we could receive power when the utility company worked the transformer situation 6 days later. Such a blessing. A great team. Really nice and knowledgeable.
