Overall, the job was well done. The price seemed a bit high. A sub contractor did the work and had a heavy smoke smell on his clothes.

I called Darst Plumbing on Monday morning. Obviously I woke him up. He said he would be here between 11:00 and 12:00. He did show up at the quoted time. He was here all of 30 minutes, replaced a seal under our toilet. He said that will be $178.00. I said what? I told him they were here 2 months earlier to fix a leaking pipe, tore out the ceiling and it didn't cost much more than that. He said ok, since you are a repeat customer, I will take 20.00 off. It cost us 158.00 to have a seal replaced. I think his price is very high. I will not call them again.

I made 3 call about a plubing leak over a one week timeframe. Each time I was told someone would call me back. Finally on the third call I was advised that they couldn't help me with my problem ant that I should call someone else.

Came out on a Saturday with no extra charge. Owner even showed up with another individual and they both worked. I've used many times and have never been anything but totally satified in all aspects.

I thought the price was expensive for the work they preformed.

He was a very nice guy and I would use him again.

Came to perform the estimate, collected our check and we never heard from them again. After hiring another company to do the work, I called for a refund of our estimate check. They have said they will send it, but I'm still waiting a week later. By the way, other companies only charge $45 for an estimate.

They were here two separate times. The first time they fixed the toilet then they came back out the next day to fix the sink. The prices seem to be high and there were charges on the bill that I did not fully understand. In regards to the repairs the sink is fine but the toilet seems no better than it was.

Very prompt and satisfactory service, done under a home warranty (so the price of $100 was our deductible, not the true cost of the repair).

We were contacted by Amanda to inform us that a service tech would be out that afternoon. The two techs arrived promptly and conducted themselves very professionally. They removed the broken water heater and replaced it with a new one and provided me with the invoice. After paying the amount over the $500 home warranty cap ($260) the guys left. The next evening we returned home to find a very strong gas smell. Following the direction of Suburban Natural Gas Company we left the house until one of their representative could come out and find the gas leak. The gas leak was located at the union on the gas line to the water heater. We contacted Darst the next morning, they do not have 24 hr service, informing them of the problem and because of the problem we had to cancel our weekend get away to Florida. Charlie Darst immediately sent the head of the heating division out to correct the problem and refunded our out of pocket cost ($210). The company was great to work with.

All he did was install one piece and for the leak he found the source, but did nothing about it. It was really pricey for not a lot of work.

The first water heater that was installed did not work very well, it starts getting cold after 10 minutes. We contacted them to let them know and they replaced it with another water heater of the same brand and it continues to do the same thing. They are telling us that the cold weather was causing the water to go cold so quickly, although we've lived here for over 5 years and the older water heater didn't have the same problem. They also told us that we needed to install a balancer because we have an older home (although we didn't have any problems with our other water heater). They have tried to be accommodating, but we have let it sit for now because we became frustrated with the situation. They were nice and professional. I don't have anything to compare prices with, so I can't really say good or bad.

I've used them many times before. I thought this was going to be a simple fix, it just seemed that the handle was broken. However, they don't make the same parts anymore. He had to put in an entire new flush valve. It turned out to be more complicated than we originally thought. The technician was very professional. He was very reassuring and tested the toilet a few times. Given the situation, I think the price was fair.

Darst was contracted under my home warranty to repair a gas leak in my range. Technician was very courteous and knowledgeable. He was very thorough and able to identify precise location of the leak, but determined that given the location, it should be covered under my gas line warranty. He explained the leak, explained the gas warranty I had (we had just purchased the home) and was very helpful in pointing me in the right direction.

One guy, Montana, pointed out all of the updates that needed to be done in my older home. He was very thorough.

When they came out they check it out and had to use a machine on the drain. They were prompt and professional. I believe that it was a high charge. I thought they would be able to tell what they need to do over the phone.

TOOK THE HAIR OUT OF THE STOPPER, BUT CHARGED $146.00. COULD NOT GET THE KITCHEN SINK TO WORK. THE SERVICE CALL WAS $60.00, AND THERE WAS A CHARGE FOR THE PARTS. HE SMELLED LIKE TOBACCO SO BAD THAT THE SMELL STAYED IN MY HOME AFTER HE LEFT. STILL LEAKS.

DARST WAS CONTRACTED BY OUR HOME WARRANTEE SERVICE. CONTACTED ME VERY PROMPTLY AND HAD A REPAIR PERSON ON MY DOORSTEP WITHIN 30 MINUTES. HE EXAMINED MY SUMP PUMP AND AGREED IT NEEDED REPLACING. SPENT ABOUT 15 MINUTES ON THE PHONE WITH THE WARRANTEE COMPANY GETTING PERMISSION TO REPLACE IT. THE WORK WAS COMPLETED, TESTED AND CLEANED UP WITHIN 45 MINUTES. MY RELUCTANCE TO HIRE THEM AGAIN IS NOT BASED ON THIS EXPERIENCE, BUT ON REPORTS THAT OTHERS HAVE FILED.

YOUNG TECHNICIAN COMPLETELY MISDIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. SAID IT WAS A LEAKING SHOWER DOOR - IT WASN'T. ADVISED ME THAT HE WOULD HAVE HIS BOSS CALL ME WITH AN ESTIMATE TO INSTALL NEW SHOWER PAN, ETC. NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK WITH THE ESTIMATE. PAID $50 FOR ESSENTIALLY NOTHING - WONDER HOW MUCH AHS GOT CHARGED?

AFTER REPAIRING THE BURST PIPE THEY TOLD ME I SHOULD EXPECT FUTURE PROBLEMS BECAUSE OF THE INFERIOR PLASTIC FITTINGS THAT WERE USED IN THE ORIGINAL CONSTRUCTION. THE SERVICEMAN SUGGESTED WE HAVE SOMEONE FROM THEIR OFFICE COME OUT TO GIVE US AN ESTIMATE OF THE COST TO REPLACE THOSE FITTINGS. I CALLED TWO WEEKS LATER TO HAVE SOMEONE COME FOR THE ESTIMATE. AFTER WE WERE GIVEN THE ESTIMATE, THE MAN SAID WE OWED $75 FOR HIS ESTIMATE. HAD I BEEN TOLD THAT WHEN I CALLED, I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD THEM GIVE THE ESTIMATE AS MOST OTHER PLUMBERS DO NOT CHARGE FOR ESTIMATES. I ALSO DID NOT LIKE BEING CHARGED A FUEL CHARGE WHEN I HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED BEFOREHAND. THE COMPANY REFUSES TO REFUND THE ADDITIONAL CHARGES. WE WILL NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN.

THE PLUMBER CAME OUT THE SAME DAY THAT WE CALLED. HE WAS VERY EFFICIENT.

WE HAVE USED THIS COMPANY FOR SEVERAL PLUMBING PROJECTS AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PLEASED WITH THEIR QUALITY OF WORK. THE STAFF (BOTH IN THE OFFICE AND THE SERVICE STAFF) ARE VERY PLEASANT AND PROFESSIONAL AND RESPOND TO OUR CALLS IMMEDIATELY.

THE OWNER TOOK CHARGE AND SENT OUT A SUPERVISOR WHO TOOK CARE OF ALL THE PROBLEMS AND THEN SOME. THEY SAID THEY WOULD RE-TRAIN THAT EMPLOYEE

1ST APPOINTMENT: COULDN'T DO THE JOB, COULDN'T TURN OFF MAIN SHUT OFF WHICH IS UNDERSTANDABLE. THEY ASKED ME TO HAVE THE CITY MARK THE SHUT OFF AND RESCHEDULE WHICH I DID. 2ND APPOINTMENT: THEY DIDN'T SHOW UP WITH THE TOOLS TO DO THE JOB AND I HAD TO RESCHEDULE. 3RD APPOINTMENT: THEY TOLD THEIR BOSS THAT I SAID ON THE PHONE THAT I WAS DRUNK AND PASSED OUT, THUS MISSING THE VISIT. LIE! I GAVE THEM ANOTHER TRY - 4TH APPOINTMENT. THE OWNER AND ANOTHER PLUMBER CAME OUT ON SATURDAY. I ALSO ADDED A KITCHEN SINK FAUCET REPLACEMENT TO THE JOB. ALL THE WORK WAS DONE AND THE OWNER SAID, ''NO CHARGE!'' TO MAKE UP FOR THE PREVIOUS PROBLEMS. OKAY, HERE IS WHERE IT GETS GOOD. THE KITCHEN FAUCET ALMOST FELL INTO THE SINK AND I RE-DID THE WORK MYSELF. THE BATHTUB WAS LEAKING IN THE BASMENT AND I HAD THEM COME BACK OUT TO REPAIR. THEY CAME OUT AND WELL, THE TUB IS STILL LEAKING. 5 OR MORE APPOINTMENTS LATER,I AM LOOKING FOR A NEW PLUMBER. TUB STILL LEAKING,FAUCET FALLS OFF? COME ON, THIS IS BASIC STUFF

THE CONNECTIONS WERE LOOSE AND I COULD HAVE FIXED IT MYSELF! HE WENT AHEAD AND CHANGED SOME PVC TUBING. I USED THEM BECAUSE I HAVE HOMEGUARD. INSTEAD OF GIVING ME AN ITEMIZED BILL, HE JUST CHARGED ME THE ENTIRE $100 DEDUCTIBLE. I MOST DEFINITELY DO NOT FEEL THAT HE DID A $100 OF WORK. HE WORKED FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES AND THE PARTS WERE AT MOST ABOUT $10. I FEEL VERY CHEATED!!! I CALLED THE COMPANY AND THE RECEPTIONIST TOLD ME THAT THE WORK I HAD DONE WOULD HAVE COST OVER $100, BUT I DO NOT BELIEVE HER. I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT USE THEM AGAIN AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM FOR ANYONE ELSE. I AM PLANNING TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH HOMEGUARD AS WELL.
