came when they said they would, courteous and professional and competent. gave advice on which appliance to plug into which circuits in the basement so that none would shut down if the sump pump switched on and potentially overloaded a circuit

Billy was prompt and friendly, did great work and everything was tip-top when he left. Job took longer than anticipated, but they stuck to the original estimate and came up with a creative solution to our situation. This home was built in 1875, and there is some funky stuff going on, but Billy took great care of us!

My tenants at a rental property called me and reported that many lights and appliances in the house were not working, including the furnace. I had called several Angie's List electricians and Converse was the only company that could come out the same day, which was critical. Billy Roush met me at the property, and after I described the issue, he was able to diagnose the problem with the electrical phase in the house without even looking at the panel. When he connected his voltage tester to the panel, his diagnosis was right on the money. Unfortunately this required the replacement of the panel as parts for the model of panel in the house were no longer produced. Billy temporarily wired the furnace to a new circuit to ensure the tenants had heat overnight, then returned the next day to do the replacement work. He was very thorough and did a great job identifying all the circuits in the new panel. He also took great care to keep the property clean by putting on booties over his work boots whenever he entered the house. Billy and Converse did an outstanding job. Though they are not necessarily the cheapest provide out there (and they admit that), their quality of service is well worth any additional cost. I also liked that they provided a written estimate of the work and stood by that. I would certainly use them again.

We had our kitchen pendant break on Christmas Eve. Needing to replace it before company came, we found Converse Electric at the top of Angie's List of electrical providers in our area. We left a voicemail on their service and received a return call within 30 minutes. Dave advised us that based on our description of the light, it would need to be replaced. We quickly found a chandelier we liked at Lowe's (Georgesville Rd) and called Dave from the store. He met us within the hour and installed the new fixture.
The only down side was the price, which actually was pretty reasonable, considering it was a service during the holiday. We did receive a 5% Angie's List discount. We will be using Converse again in the future.

Contact and scheduling was easy, was able to do all via email. We previously had can lighting installed in another room and were absolutely thrilled with results and workmanship. We requested and were promised the same team this time, but one of the guys was different.
They diligently worked on the can lights, which was in an attic and a difficult job, I'm sure. In the end, all turned out as hoped. Very happy with the can lights.
The basement outlet didn't go as well and was wired incorrectly, requiring them to come back. It would've gone unnoticed and was a possible safety hazard, but I fortunately know just enough to have spotted/questioned the problem. They apologized and returned promptly to correct the issue. Since then, all good.
We have historically been very happy with Converse, but them changing the personnel on us was disappointing, as well as
the poor outlet install which could have gone unnoticed and ultimately caused a fire. I can't say I won't call again, but this experience will make be reconsider.

We just purchased a new home and needed some electrical work done. We were referred to converse electric by my mother who had used their services in the past. Best choice we could have made! They sent a technician out for an estimate before doing any work. He called a half hour ahead of time to let us know he was on the way which is greatly appreciated. During the estimate he listened to what we wanted and gave us a fair quote. His name is billy. He was so polite and kind we specifically requested him to do the job. The day of our appointment he called ahead of time once again and showed up on time. He was extremely professional and cleaned up after himself. We barely even knew he was here. He did everything we asked and we couldn't be happier. We highly recommend converse electric and specifically Billy Roush! We were so pleased with his quality work we will be using him for all of our future needs at home and our business. Thanks!

I can't say enough great things about the team who came out to rewire our house. The house was built in 1925 and has had very few upgrades since them. Most of the wiring was original knob and tube, and our insurance company was forcing us to rewire or they wouldn't insure. I was very nervous about it because I knew it would be pretty invasive and time consuming. Thankfully, Dave, Joe, and Toby were all awesome guys to work with. They were on time, super friendly, and great with our 100 lb. dog (who can be a pain sometimes). I am an interior designer and somewhat particular, and they worked with me on specific requests. They also guided me in making new fixture selections. Although we planned to reuse a lot of the lighting, they were candid about whether or not they recommended reusing. Since they'd be rehanging the fixtures anyway, they allowed me to run out and grab new lights in time for install. Mike and I were pleasantly surprised with the lack of holes in the walls. They were very considerate in keeping them to an absolute minimum (because plaster repair is NOT fun). I'm very glad we went with a reputable company for such a large project. A full rewire is no joke. We'll definitely use Converse again and I can't thank them enough for bringing this old house up to code.

It went very well. This is the third time we have used them in the last 3 years. They were on time, inspected the job before giving an estimate. When we decided to have the work done, they were ontime, performed all the work as requested and we are very pleased with the outcome. No job is without its wrinkles/surprises but the electrician was able to come up with solutions to our satisfaction. They wore "booties" in the house and did an excellent job of clean-up and not creating a mess when opening the walls and ceilings for new boxes.
