I got 3 estimates for some major electrical service last year. I needed a new service mast as mine was wearing through the outside protection and a new updated fuse box. Mine was not even legal any more. Had 2 fuse boxes. One from the 1950s and one from the 1970s. Jennings Electrical quoted me $10,000.00 to do the job. I even gave them a $400 down payment that day. They did refund the $400 after I got dif quotes. I did decided to get another estimate to make sure they were in the ball park. A second place quoted me $5,500.00 for the same job. Tri-County Electric Service quoted me $2,600.00 for the same job. It was so low I was a bit worried but went ahead and gave Tri County the job. The man that did the work did it in one day by himself. Took a long time but well done! All has been fine since July of 2023. Of course I recommend this company 100%! I wish they would also do bathroom and kitchen remodeling. They would be first in line for the job.
Description of Work: I needed a new service mast installed removing the old one. Also had 2 old fuse boxes they replaced with one much larger updated one and eliminated the other 2 altogether.

It went extremely well. The men arrived exactly as promised, and worked straight thru for eleven hours. They did not leave until certain that all lights were working, and labeled correctly. They also cleaned up debris. All were polite and courteous.

It never occurred to us that we would not be using Tricounty Electric for the projects we currently need to do at our new home, because we had had such a positive experience with them in the past. However, things seem to have gone significantly downhill at this company. We set up an appointment for an estimate on 12/19/2014, and that went fine. We explained that we had a number of other repairs that needed to be done at the house and they were all contingent on the electrical getting finished first, so the project was very time-sensitive. We never heard back. We figured the holidays were a factor so waited until early January to follow up on the missing estimate. Mr. LeConti said he was on a vacation and would get back to us when he returned several days later. He did not, and he did not respond to our further attempts to contact him. We were finally able to get a hold of a live person at their office, who tried to say that the hold-up was likely related to the company holiday party having been 12/19. When I said that would be quite some party to explain weeks-long delay, she then said their computer system had crashed and our information was lost. She then said their backup system also didn't work. Then she said Mr. LeConti didn't even have a copy of his notes from the original appointment, so we would have to have them back out again to the house to start all over. We set up another appointment for January 28. At the appointment we were again clear that it was really important to us to hear back as soon as possible, that there were other projects we could not do until the electrical was done and that this was really time-sensitive. The person who came out said he understood and would get an estimate back to us in a few days. We still didn't hear back. I tried to follow up with a call to Tri County, and the same woman answered the phone and said Mr. LeConti was busy right then but would call me back that day. He never called back. If this company wasn't able to take on new projects right now then they should have just said so from the get go. Instead they completely wasted our time, both in our having to have two long appointments with them for nothing and also in the weeks of lost time because we had to totally start over and find a whole new company, get an estimate, etc. after being completely blown off by Tri County. The new company we ended up contacting came out promptly, stayed in communication with us, and got us the estimate in a week. Meanwhile, Tricounty can't even be bothered to return phone calls. We will not be working with them again. This experience was just night and day from our previous experience, and it was a shame.
Description of Work: We to date have not received the price quote, so they did not do anything. They first came out 12/19/2014.

It was like no charge. Their project manager came because we were looking for additional suggestions for heating and cooling unit in our sunroom. They came out, looked around, and said what we needed to do. They gave us an estimate. It was really nice because they didn't have to do that. They could have made another service call but they didn't. They're excellent. They were recommended from someone else who had used them before.
Description of Work: We used Tri Country Electrical. They had to replaced the csi in our master bathroom. They did some panel labelling with the circuit board. Our electric panel was screwed up on how it was labelled and they help us redo that.

Description of Work: The AC was not working. They came out on date and time indicated and gave me three options. They explained each option thoroughly and what the cost would be. The unit was very old and the Freon used in the unit is no longer available on the market. They took there time to provide me with all the data available so I could make the best decision possible. I was very pleased with them and will definitely use them again.

What I most appreciated was that for the toughest one, which required running a wire down into our basement through a plaster ceiling, they took time to do it carefully without killing our living room floor or wall, and without damaging the basement ceiling. Nice job. They showed up on time, were polite. Great experience from estimate to finished job.

My handyman recommended this company when he saw that we had a (dangerous) Federal Pacific panel. I did my research, and decided to make the change immediately. Chris came out, gave me a bid, and we were on our way. The work was scheduled about a week in advance and the 2 workmen showed up bright and early, with all the supplies needed. Turns out, this was a big and important job. The existing panel was a fire hazard, the house had never been properly grounded, we were out of 'space,' many things in the old box were poorly labeled, and if we wanted to sell the house all this work would have ben required to come up to code. This team worked for two straight days in and around my garage. The second day, they stayed until the job was done (long after regular work hours), to make sure everything was working properly and that the new breaker box was properly labeled. Wonderful experience! I will hire this company again, no hesitation.

I had a garage door that wasn't closing all the way and raccoons were entering thru the bottom of the door. The repairman from TriCounty fixed the door and helped figure out how to keep them out by adding some additional material to make sure the holes were covered. We are now raccoon free in our garage. When the door wasn't opening up all the way a little later, another repairmen came out promptly and adjusted it. LOVED the service and promptness.

I still never heard from him. I'm disappointed with them for wasting my time and theirs. I feel that I wouldn't be able to rely on them to get back to me if there would be a problem.
Description of Work: Originally in 2011 they redid some light switches and wires in the house. I called them to get an estimate on some additional work this year. They came out and looked at everything and said they would email me an estimate. I called the company after I hadn't heard from them in a couple weeks. I talked to a woman who said she would look into it and have the electrician call me.

Chris came out an quoted the job. His price was a little high, but the company came highly rated from other I had conferred with. Eric was the electrician that came out to do the work. He took a lot of pride in his work. His work was excellent. He was very cooperative with requests on various aspects. The team at the house cleaned up their workspace when done and left almost no trace that they were there. I have more electrical work to do in my house and probably will use these guys again.

The Tri-County rep arrived a bit late, but got straight to work. The original meter-mains box they had brought with them was inappropriate for the application. The rep had his assistant make a run to replace the box while he got to work removing the old wiring and taking measurements for the replacement wiring. Overall, the job took roughly six hours to complete (per the electrician's estimate). The work was not only very professional but made a measurable difference in the voltage available at the house receptacles and in a hum in my stereo gear which had previously required me to and quot;floatand quot; it to remove the hum. Indeed, once I removed the 3-to-2 plug adapters from my equipment, there has been a marked improvement in sound quality, indicating MUCH BETTER GROUNDING. I was VERY impressed with the electrician, somewhat less so with his assistant, but in the main, the work done was excellent. I would work with Tri-County again without hesitation.
Description of Work: Originally, I wanted to replace a rusted-out electrical box which handled my air conditioning. Upon evaluation, the electrician found that: The A/C was over-fused by over 50%, 35 amperes versus 20. The mains wiring for the A/C was wired to the HOT side of the outdoor breaker. Wiring from the mast to the breaker and from the breaker to the in-house breaker box was ALUMINUM. The grounding for the house was poor at best. His proposed solution was to completely replace the mains wiring for the house, including: A new service mast, using PVC conduit A 100-ampere meter / mains box with disconnect and all-copper mains wiring Two eight-foot ground rods New ground wiring from the outside to the water meter and water piping in the house. New fuse box for the A/C
