FACEMYER'S BACKHOE & DOZER SERVICE

All groundcover died the first season. They said it was because we chose the "economy groundcover." Drain had to be dug up and replaced at our expense. They blamed it on another subcontractor's damage, however it NEVER worked... even before the other sub stepped foot on our project. They placed the wrong color pavers in a section of our walk (red pavers in a gray walk). They did not correct this despite several phone calls and photos e-mailed depicting the error. WE WILL NEVER HIRE THEM AGAIN.

In past we were very satisfied customers. But this time we waited more than 6 months after signing a contract before the work was finally done; final invoice was more than 9x the amount quoted on the estimate. They offered to discount the final bill because of the misunderstanding, but then threatened to put a lien on our home the day after our check was in the mail to them. They were bad communicators, bad contract writers (the total was never presented as a minimum, but rather the total price), and providers of terrible customer service.

The final grading work was excellent. The dozer operator smoothed out the contour of the property and prepared it for seeding, providing a gentle slope. I would highly recommend the dozer services. The seeding process included preparing the soil, fertilizing, seeding and straw mulching. The owners seemed very knowledgeable on seed types and methods. They used equipment to place the seed into the ground which was very effective. There were issues related to the placement and maintaining straw mulch on a sloped property. Considering the dry weather, it was critical to keep the straw mulch in place. And this was not successful. A more adhesive material should have been used to protect the seed on the critical areas around the home. As a result, my property has an abundance of weeds and the grass is slowly coming up in the bare spots. Also, it was very difficult to reach the company representative with concerns, scheduling information, etc as she was not readily available.

THEY NEVER RETURNED MY CALL.

THE ONLY DIFFICULTY WAS IN GETTING ON THE SCHEDULE TO HAVE THE WORK DONE. HOWEVER THE WORK WAS EXCELLENT AND SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS BELOW ANY OTHER QUOTE. IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT.

VERY NICE! MISSED HIS SONS BASEBALL GAME TO DO THIS FOR ME AND WOULDNT ACCEPT A PAYMENT.
