This was the fireplace company that our builder contracted. We had issues from day 1. The owner, Bob, said that he knew they installed one of the fireplaces incorrectly, he just couldn’t remember which one (it was ours). We have done the regular service calls for cleaning and general maintenance, but along with that were many warranty calls for malfunctioning. A few months ago we had them come out for another service call because our fireplace wouldn’t stay lit. We called back because our pilot will not stay on. It goes out and then clicks for about 40-60 seconds while trying to re-light. We were told they’re done covering their work as a warranty call, disregarding the fact that it hasn’t worked appropriately the entire time we’ve owned our house. We were told, “we are a small business and we have to cut it off somewhere”. I could totally understand this being the response if this was something that was ever working and/or fixed correctly, but it wasn’t. We were told that it could be user error (it is a switch on the wall).

These folks are well above "TOP SHELF"! The installers absolutely know their craft and when I needed service they were right here 55 miles away from their shop. My wife and I are here in front of our fireplace enjoying the project that could not have been done any better by anybody except God.

I fireplace quit working. Had Mid Ohio Hearth come out and he said he didn't have the part needed and would have to order it. Received a call from them and was told after reviewing our past service calls they need to replace the whole unit. Wednesday around noon they came and installed a whole new unit. It was working fine. Got up this morning. Small sporadic snow flakes and it's cold. Flipped the switch to start the fireplace - nothing - not even a pilot light. A whole new unit was installed on Wednesday - paid almost $900 and it worked for two and a half days. I am not a happy camper! 😒

From my first call to them to schedule a service visit to the tech (Shaun) visit and work on our fireplaces, Mid Ohio Hearth Products was amazing to deal with! I would highly recommend them for reasonable, reliable and honest service. In my case, I had contacted another business first who sent a tech out and without spending more than two minutes (no exaggeration) looking at my fireplace, he said I would need it completely rebuilt. He quoted me thousands of dollars. Because I was skeptical about that companyâ s honesty, I got a second opinion with Mid Ohio Hearth. Thank goodness I did because they came out and fixed the problem for a minuscule fraction of the other estimate (basically just charged me the service call fee). So honest and reasonable. I should have called Mid-Ohio Hearth first. They will be my first call if I need anything in the future.

I was satisfied with the work completed. The repairman came at the correct time. He was knowledgeable and efficient. The only con is that I felt the charge was a bit high. But, I would recommend this company because the problem was taken care of.

Top quality employee was sent to us. Great guy, chatted about what he was doing so he helped explain the issue and what to do to prevent issues going forward. I was satisfied with his work and thought he was done. He was a perfectionist and felt the flame could be better so he took it apart again to make it that little bit better. Took a lot of pride in his work. Side note- when searching for service on this fireplace service the top search engine company quoted me thousands stating it needed a full rebuild. $155 out the door here and it works like new. Wish I remembered the other companies name for you to stay away from.
