A-1 Body & Frame

I am beyond disappointed with the service I received from this car repair company. Initially, they assured me that the repair would take one week. However, it took over three weeks to finally complete the work. Throughout this extended period, they took no responsibility for the delays and consistently passed the blame onto their vendors. Each time I contacted them for an update, I was given a different excuse about a part they were waiting on from the vendors. This lack of consistency and transparency was incredibly frustrating. It's evident that they are neither organized nor competent in running their business. Their poor communication and inability to meet deadlines show a complete disregard for their customers. I felt ignored and undervalued throughout the entire process. This is not a reliable or trustworthy place to take your car for repairs. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Save yourself the hassle and frustration and go to literally any other repair shop. This place is an absolute nightmare to deal with, and their service is atrocious.

The process of dropping off the car was easy. I was able to pick up my rental car right there. The repair took longer than the original estimate. There was a problem of some kind getting the correct bumper assembly and there was more damage than in the original estimate. I had to contact them to find out what was going on as the original completion date came and went. When it was finally done, the pick was quick and easy. I was able to leave the rental car there for the rental company to come after it.

The workers were very good. Took back a second time because they should had caught that mistake the first time.

This is the third time I have used A1 Body and Frame(but that is another story).  This time my son's Mustang got a bit too close to a parking garage barrier.  Just like the previous visits, Jay and the team treated me as if I were family.  They explained the work necessary, explained my options in dealing with the insurance company (one repair was under my deductible), and positioned me to make informed decisions.  They worked around my work and travel schedules.  With each job, A1 was ready to begin work on the scheduled date and completed the work as promised.

The quality of the repairs is excellent.  With today's metallic paints, normal aging, I would imagine its tough to get a good color match.  You cannot tell either car was repaired. 

Normally when I get this type of service I look forward to returning.  While I hope I don't see Jay for a long time, if needed, I will gladly give my business (and/or referrals) to Jay and A1 Body and Frame in Gahanna.

Quality of workmanship was top-notch, staff were all friendly and customer-focused. Date of completion was missed by over a week but they took care of the additional charges to my rental. Also, the final detailing of the car could have been done better. However, I consider those as minor issues because I was so pleased with the end result and was treated well.

They are one of State Farm's preferred (direct bill) providers and the process was smooth and painless. Would use again, should my car ever need body work again. Great communication and status updates were provided along the way.

They were great worked directly with both insurance companies. Really nice guys.

Everything went fine. They are very knowledgable and capable. Repairs performed put the car in like new condition.

I worked with the insurance company, which gave A-1 Body as an option to do the repairs. I had work done by them in the past, so I went ahead and set up an appointment for an estimate. Once given the estimate, I agreed for them to do the work. I dropped the car off on a Tuesday, and drove off in a rental car they arranged for me.
They gave me a call during the week with an update, saying they should be finished on Friday. On Friday, I hadn't heard by 4PM, so I called to find out if they would be done. They indicated they would, and I stopped by about 10 minutes before they closed. I had to wait 10-15 minutes because they were still wrapping up the work, but was able to leave with my car.
I was very pleased with the work and the professionalism at A-1 Body.

They did an excellent job. I was very satisfied. You can't tell there was anything there before!

A-1 was professional and always kept me posted on the progress of the car. It took a little longer to fix than I expected but that was due to parts that were not sent as ordered. The car looks fantastic and was fixed up as a brand new car. I have always used A-1 and will continue to do so in the future

I called and asked about the repair work. They said they would order the part and would have it in, in 2-4 days, and would call me. They also asked me to stop by if in the neighborhood just to double check what was needed. I had given them the VIN for the correct part number. I called them after a week had gone by as they hadn't informed me that the part had come in.The didn't understand why it hadn't come in and reordered it and said to come in Tuesday to have it put on. When I went in that Tuesday the part was there and it took about 20 minutes to put it on. I noticed that although they are a AAA approved facility, they do not give an AAA discount.

After several days to resolve the insurance issues, A-1 accepted my vehicle for repairs on a Friday. They company stayed open late to accommodate me since I could not get to the garage before 5:00 due to the snow and how difficult it was to drive my vehicle in the very difficult road conditions with suspension damage. The garage arranged to have a rental car company pick me up after hours as well. The work was completed in two weeks which was within the time they estimated. I received timely updates to the progress of the work. They let me decide about whether to repair minor surface damage or instead receive a rebate from the insurance company.

This was my first experience using A1 Body and Frame. Scheduled in for estimate the next day, final estimate ready the following morning, handled all insurance paperwork and approvals, offered to help schedule rental but went without, completed on time and to the estimate by following Friday (total 9 days, including 1 weekend). Work looks very professional. Paid just insurance deductible to A1 Body and Frame. Work is guaranteed.

They were polite and answered all the questioned I had.

They price was covered by my insurance company. They were really fair with their estimate and the insurance company didn't have a problem with them either. They did very good work. If I needed to, I would use them again in the future.

They were great to work with. Very polite, and got me in quickly. They were finished a day later than originally said, but that's typical and overall I would go back and recommend them to anyone else needing their services.

They had excellent service and a professional honest estimate by people who really know what they are doing. They did an upfront honest estimate of damage to the old car inflicted by my teenager and suggestion of how to do it in a cost effective manner. They worked with me to mechanically restore the function of the car with parts I got from salvage yards. Even though the doors are a different color than the rest of the car, the function is good as new with electric windows and locks. And we have cheap reliable transportation again for much less than the price to replace it. They gave me an estimate of $750, and it ended up costing $582. Even though they may strike some people as brusque, they will get all of any future business I may have.

My front fender was loose, and the holes where it was bolted on were stripped. He gave me the option of re-attaching the fender (at much less cost) instead of having to replace it. They did a great job and it looks new. I have used them before and they have always done a superior job.

I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND A-1. WENT TO THIS BODY SHOP BECAUSE IT WAS RECOMMENDED BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY. THOUGH THEY ARE PERSONABLE, SEEM TO BE FULL OF EXCUSES WHEN THINGS AREN'T GOING WELL. TOOK THREE VISITS TO HAVE ALL THE REPAIRS COMPLETED. I UNDERSTAND THAT PARTS TAKE TIME TO COME IN, ETC., BUT JUST KEEP MY CAR UNTIL IT'S FIXED AND SAVE ME HAVING TO COME BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN. IF THEY WOULD QUALITY CONTROL THE REPAIR BEFORE RELEASING THE CAR TO THE CUSTOMER, I WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH HAPPIER. WHEN BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK IN TO HAVE IT REPAIRED, BOTH TIMES I FELT LIKE I WAS A BOTHER TO THEM. ALSO, HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE RENTAL CAR THEY GOT ME ON THE LAST VISIT. IT TOOK ME CALLING MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. WAS NEVER EVEN INFORMED ABOUT THE CAR RENTAL ISSUE BY A-1. I DON'T LIKE TO BE BLINDSIDED BY PROBLEMS. IN MY OPINION, THE COMPLETED WORK IS GREAT, BUT, IT TOOK A LOT MORE HASSLE THAN NECESSARY.
