Twin Locust Furniture

The furniture is all top notch: sturdy and good looking. We will be going back for more when we are ready.

He designed a bedroom set taking into account our matress height and the size of our room. When we had a problem with a drawer on the mule chest, he came to the house and fixed it. He also touched up any areas with the stain that needed it after move as well as made any adjustments to the rest of the chest. We just ordered two more pieces at the open house of his new show room. We plan on ordering more over the next two years.

All of our numerous experiences with Twin Locust have been very rewarding. We first 'stumbled' on Twin Locust several years ago when looking for a storage cabinet for our laundry room to replace our third Formica covered chip board units that did not stand up. We spent the day looking at and pricing 'standard' wood cabinets at a number of stores in the Amish country. On our way back home, we passed by this minimalist garage/showroom/workroom with a retail customers welcome sign and being tired, somewhat reluctantly decided to stop. It proved to be a great, dumb luck move. The small showroom had a small number of furniture pieces and numerous catalogs from other Amish furniture builders. We described our wants to Ervin Yoder, i.e. Twin Locust furniture builder/owner. He 'freehand' drew the cabinet we wanted making requested changes until we said "that's it". We were pleasantly surprised at the pricing - it was significantly lower than the 'standard cabinets' at the other stores we had visited. The quality of the resulting piece exceeded our expectations. Subsequently, we and our family members have purchased a number of 'Amish' furniture pieces from Twin Locust. Ervin has consistently exceeded our expectations. The quality has been consistently excellent. Each time we compared prices (to other stores in the area and internet sites), we found that Twin Locust had a significantly lower price. We also learned that Twin Locust could make furniture pieces that look like some pieces (Amish do not do veneer or inlays) we saw in 'national big box' and 'arts and crafts stores' at comparable, if not, lower prices and what we strongly feel is superior quality and construction. We know Twin Locust furniture is constructed with solid hardwoods and made in the USA. Furthermore, Ervin stands behind this work. Several drawers in our married daughter's mule chest came loose three years after purchase. At no cost, Ervin came to their home to repair the piece and adjust doors in the cabinet that were 'not quite right' after their recent move to their new home. We highly recommend Ervin/Twin Locust. We feel Angies members would be doing themselves a huge favor if they visit Twin Locust before they purchase 'art and crafts furniture' from big box/national chains or 'Amish Furniture'. Twin Locust has always exceeded our expectations for quality, workmanship, and customer service at prices we feel that "we got more than our money's worth".
