They very quickly fell behind with their schedule.  We had to wait 3 weeks longer than anticipated to have our new roof put on.  After they finished the roof, I pointed out that there were no roof vents.  Cory explained that they needed to do part of the painting first and that this would be done later.  There was also 1 popped nail on the roof as well.  It took many conversations with Cory for this to be remedied.  After that, we had to wait for weeks before they began painting.  The painting crew showed up late and used no scaffolding.  They propped a ladder coated in painter's tape up to the house.  when they powerwashed the house, they chewed up the wood and had to do extensive patching on those areas.  They did not scrape the house as indicated in our contract with them.  After they painted the house, I noticed that they had skipped painting the sides of the trim, spilled paint on my deck, and sprayed paint on the underside of my porch roof (which was pristine original 1920's woodwork).  There were also several bubbled up spots in the paint.  I looked at the bottom of the siding and noticed that none of it was painted.  Cory sent his crew back out to fix there work and I kept finding spots that were not painted.  They treated me as though I were an unreasonable woman who could not be pleased.  I also found the way the painter smoked while spraying the paint unprofessional.  Overall, I would warn anyone who wants professional quality work to avoid this company at all costs.  They have never fixed the paint job and I have even more bubbled up spots.  Cory  makes a lot of excuses about this shoddy workmanship.

Bottom line is that they are low-cost and friendly, but don't trust them with anything complicated. Inspect the work like a hawk, because they don't.

Cory is well-spoken and professional. The work was completed promptly and looked good. He threw in some gutter work at not additional cost. He also replaced some sheeting above what we had agreed on, and did not charge. We had major leaks after the first rain. The leak at the addition appeared cured. The chimney leaked badly, worse than before. We had a new leak in the kitchen. This was beneath a flat roof that his company did not touch. He sent a guy promptly, who siliconed some small tears in the flat roof over the kitchen. The leaks continued. I noticed that the new drip edge did not extend down to the gutters, so water was leaking behind the fascia trim, behind the siding, and into the kitchen. His guys never noticed this and I suspect Cory never inspected the job. I made three appointments to get him out here so I could explain the problem. After blowing three appointments, he came out with his father and agreed to put flashing between the drip edge and fascia, all around the house, at no additional cost. He also agreed to coat the membrane over the flat roof at no cost. The coating was done promptly. He did a small amount of the flashing, then I had to pursue him to complete the work. His crew came back and finished first-story gutters, but did not complete second-story gutters. I called and he said they had run out of materials, and would be back soon. After two weeks I called, and he expressed surprise that the work was not done. He said his crew would be back by the end of the week to finish. They didn't return, so I complained through BBB. He finally completed the work. I never pursued the chimney leak, since I think completely new step and counter flashing is required, and perhaps repointing of the chimney, and I don't have the time or confidence in his work to pursue Diralast on this.
Response from Diralast Roofing and Siding
"Our greatest appologies for this incident, Diralast holds to very high standards, and we are as cost friendly as possible, we do hundreds of roofs each year, on this particular job the gentleman who was running the crew had done a few jobs for us that were very good, he claimed he had 20 years experience, needless to say this was his last job for us, and unfortunately corey was out of town at this time, we did though however come back and fix the leaks. Today we have top notch foremen, and we hold them to the highest standards, and have not had any complaints since. Thank you and have a wonderful day!"
