COUNTER ADVICE INC

In the end, we have good-looking counter-tops but it wasn't without a lot of hassle.
We ordered solid surface counter-tops through Lowes and were told Counter Advice would be installing them. Counter Advice contacted us to schedule a time to take measurements. The employee who came to our house to take measurements was on time and friendly.
When the counter-tops arrived, scheduling a time for installation was easy. A team of two employees came to our house for installation. Problems encountered include:

1. The island counter-tops was measured correctly but cut wrong so that didn't fit.
3. Installation of solid surface counter-tops requires sanding out the seams which created a lot of debris/dust which the employees didn't clean. Had I been told about the dust, I would better prepared my kitchen by empyting out my cabinets so the contents didn't end up covered in a thick layer of dust. 
5. The caulking job was awful. The clear caulk used was uneven, crooked, beyond the seam, and the employee caulking left clear caulk finger- and hand-prints all over the counters. 
7. The area above the back-splash was damaged during removal of the old back-splash and left unfinished.

Working to get these issues resolved was difficult. The island counter-top was eventually installed and the caulk was fixed but it was a pretty unpleasant experience trying to get these problems fixed. We were almost to the point of just saying "Don't worry about it. We'll call someone else." And in fact we did call someone else to fix the back-splash.
We will not use Counter Advice in the future nor would we recommend them.

They arrived within their window time, and got straight to work. The hole they drilled for the new faucet was perfectly centered, as was the new Corian sink that was magically attached to the countertop. The cabinet that was in the way, came down and went back up in a matter of minutes. He filed down a bulge in the wall that I had assumed was from water damage, but it turned out to be a sewer pipe. That wasn't a problem at all. A little caulk and some touch up paint and you can't tell the difference. They did a good and neat job with the caulking. Everything was cut in driveway and they even swept off the debris before they left. Total time it took was about 2 hours. I bought the countertop thru Lowe's and Counter Advice is the company Lowe's contracts the work thru. I'll bypass Lowe's next time and work directly with Counter Advice.
