FARTHING REAL ESTATE & AUCTNRS

Our task was arranging an estate sale of the items in our parents? home
and around the barn.  We interviewed several auctioneers in the area but
went with Farthing since their representative, Nick Fondessy, explained they
were a full service company that would do as much or as little as we
needed them to do to prepare before auction and clean up after the
sale.  The company was also willing to work with us on scheduling the
auction, making it work with our time line. The auctioneer's commission percentage
and the hourly wage of the assistants at Farthing Real Estate and
Auctioneers  were in line with the others we interviewed.
Farthing Auctioneers did a wonderful job. Our representative was very professional, accommodating, and enthusiastic.  It was a difficult  time made much easier by the Farthing organization. All through the process Nick  kept us apprised by either phone calls or emails. He made himself available when we were in McComb, eventually meeting with all the family and answering everyone? ? questions and concerns. He was very adamant that every member of the family take the items they wanted before he got started so there would be no regrets afterwards . He explained to everyone that once an item was listed in an advertisement, it was part of the sale.
 Nick and his team cleaned out the home, garage, and barn sorting and organizing  all the contents. Nick took pictures of many of the items, added them to pictures we had given him  and  posted them all on line on an auction web site" Auction Zip."  The Farthing Auctioneers through Nick arranged for all the other advertising also.
 The advertising the Farthing group arranged was very effective; over one hundred people registered to be bidders the day of the auction.  Members of the family who attended the auction said it was very well organized, with our wishes in mind.Farthing Auctioneers ran a great auction, displayed the furniture very nicely, and had rows and rows of tables full of the estate's smaller
contents. The auction was complete with a food truck and even a portable restroom so no one would use the facilities in our folk?s home.
 Nick and the family were very pleased from the proceeds of the auction, but Nick and Farthing did not stop there. They made sure everyone removed their purchased by the next day, loaded up all the garbage and junk left around the house and took it to the dump for us.  They even helped sweep the floors of the house after the auction.
The only small  problem we had was with the delivery of the payment after the sale probably caused by a misspelling in the address. That was solved by Nick and the Farthing office staff reissuing the check and re-sending the entire package  UPS overnight. The package we received had our payment, a very easy to read and understand  list of expenditures, and a copy of all the sales slips from the auction with the amount paid for each of the items.
