The provider was very responsive to phone and text, which was a plus. Additionally, the services were rendered. However, they were not rendered in a timely manner. This provider has outgrown his operations and needs to employ more trucks. The whole reason we contracted with this provider was to avoid having to shovel while having two young children. We ended up having to shovel each and every snow until we finally terminated the contract.
When we terminated the contract, I pointed out that it stated in the contract that removals would happen by 7 am and/or 5 pm, and the provider was defensive. He stated that 2 inches had not accumulated until 5 am (which may have been true near him, but at 6 am, we had nearly 4 inches of snow on our driveway), and therefore removal by 7 am was not possible.
A good business that cares about its customers also cares about the SPIRIT of the contract and not just the letter of the contract. That business would understand that clients need to get to work, and maybe would start the route at 4 am even if there's only 1.5 inches. I want a business that cares about providing a service that meets its customers needs. It was VERY clear on this day that the snow fall was going to exceed 2 inches, and I am very disappointed with the poor service I received.
To end, I will admit that I was not the easiest person to work with. I got stressed out when I kept having to shovel, and I could have been more diplomatic. It's possible that my demeanor affected this businessman's desire to provide good service to me.
"Thanks for the note and hiring Pinetree Landscaping for your snow plowing service. Don't hesitate to call if you have any questions. See you when it snows. Patrick 440.213.4640"
It just kept dragging on. We had an issue about me receiving his quote. Once I finally received the quote I placed a deposit on May 5th and he scheduled the work : adding top soil to the front and back lawn, reseeding, creating a tree ring and relaying several patio pavers.
I had the materials for the tree ring delivered on the 15th and he was supposed to come that Saturday, the 18th to put it together. I get a call that morning saying he would be late. He came and did the job, but couldn't finish it because he had to cut some stones on the tree ring so it fit together.
He said he needed a stone cutting device and won't be able to do it until the following Saturday. He emailed me the night before, on the 24th, and told me Memorial Day is his biggest weekend of the year and he would get in touch with me on the following Tuesday, after Memorial Day.
As of 5pm Tuesday he has not gotten back to me. I'm having a hard time getting him to commit to a time and then hold that time.
I have lost confidence in this service provider, I feel as though he keeps putting my job on the back burner.
I want this project completed as soon as possible.
I would also like to point out our driveway slopes and has retaining walls on the bottom, so not the easiest job out there. Because of this Pinetree had to back plow which was explained and I appreciated that.
I gave them an average rating because they did the job and fulfilled the contract but it was always late in the evening and I would not be confident if we had a major snowfall that the driveway would be cleared by the time I got home fom work (between 5 and 6 pm). We were also told that their business clients came first, and while that makes sense it's hard to feel like a valued client when you know you are a low priority, Maybe they are just a smaller plowing company doing the best with what tbey have. Next year I plan on getting quotes from a few other companies, perhaps some that only focus on residential customers.
Arrived within 15 minutes. Plowed everything consistently. Hand-shoveled what couldn't be gotten by plow.
Actual charge matched the estimate. Everything went smoothly. Will definitely call again.
