"When the member called for service he was quoted the $75.00 diagnostic charge and when asked how much a motor would be he was told at least $500. He said he would call back. He called and scheduled the service call. While the service tech was at the home he found it was a bad blower motor and quoted $615 for the repair plus the $75 diagnostic fee (as is our company policy). The member called and was rude on the phone, also rude to the technician. He wanted the diagnostic fee taken off the bill, when he was declined that he was offered a $31 coupon. The member then told Julie the quoted repair was $600 ($15 less then he was quoted). So the bill was $600 for the motor and capacitor installed with a one year warranty on the whole repair, plus the $75 diagnostic fee, minus $31 coupon for a total of $644.00. The phone call did not go well on either side, both the member and Julie were very upset. Julie did tell the member that because he does not have regular maintenance that we don't have much in our records to go by when there is a problem. In 2005 when we found the motor bad the last time the filter was very dirty and the technician’s opinion at that time was the dirty filter led to the motor going bad prematurely. When we were there this time the filter was dirty again. Julie did not tell him he had to have a service contract but did strongly recommend regular maintenance. We are very sorry that the member is not happy with our service, we do try to work with our customers as much as possible."
