I called to get a roof inspection after a few shingles were blown off in the April 2 storm. The first available appointment was in three weeks. My shingles were discontinued by the manufacturer. So, I was concerned about getting something that would closely match my shingles. Also, the entire roof needed to be inspected for additional damage beyond what I could see. I had talked to other roofers that said the entire roof needed to be replaced and my insurance would pay for it. I really just wanted an accurate assessment of what needed to be done. The Ray St. Clair roof inspector recommended a repair for the small damaged area and gave me an estimate. He didn't try to talk me into a whole new roof. The repair was done a week after getting the estimate. They were good about communicating and doing what they said they would do. I was very happy that they matched my shingles so well that the repaired area isn't something that's noticeable. I would definitely use them in the future, and even though I only did a repair this time, be comfortable using them for a total roof replacement in the future.
"Dear Member, thank you for your report. We appreciate your feedback. Sincerely, Kevin St. Clair"
Didn’t you receive the contract between Ray St. Clair Roofing and myself, and the photographs taken of the attic the day Fitzpatrick came to investigate the problem. I had the attic access all opened up for him, but he didn’t bother looking in the attic. He said the photographs I took were enough.
As I already stated, the original spreadsheet I gave Fitzpatrick had a calculation error. I sent Ritchie, the sales rep, the revised spreadsheet for $710, but he stated that the owner Kevin St. Clair would not even accept the miscalculated $1400.
I cannot be any more clear; it states on the contract that TWELVE INCHES OF NEW BLOWN IN CELLULOSE INSULATION WILL BE ADDED TO THE EXISTING THREE INCHES OF FIBERGLASS INSULATION, WITH AN ADDED INCH OF BLOWN IN CELLULOSE FOR SETTLING. THAT MEANS THE TAPE MEASURES IN THE PHOTOS SHOULD READ SIXTEEN INCHES. Kevin St. Clair contradicts his own sales rep and states it is normal for the cellulose insulation to settle way more than one inch. The pictures taken the day Fitzpatrick came to investigate the issue were no different than the day the insulation was added. THERE WAS NO SETTLING!!!
Clearly the pictures show that I did not get what was contracted for, and Kevin St. Clair is trying to rob me and threaten me with collections.
MY FINAL OFFER IS THIS:1. I HAVE CONTACTED MY ATTORNEY AND A SUIT IS BEING FILED AGAINST RAT ST. CLAIR ROOFING AND KEVIN ST. CLAIR PERSONALLY FOR BUSINESS FRAUD.2. THE MATTER WILL BE ADJUDICATED IN THE HAMILTON COUNTY COURT OF COMMON PLEAS BECAUSE THE AMOUNT FOR DAMAGES WILL EXCEED $15,000, WITH THE DEMAND FOR A JURY TRIAL. AN INJUNCTION HAS BEEN FILED TO PROHIBIT THIS UNSCRUPULOUS BUSINESS OWNER FROM ATTEMPTING TO CONTRACT OR SELL THE FRAUDULENT DEBT TO A COLLECTION AGENCY. KEVIN ST. CLAIR WILL BE HELD IN CONTEMPT OF COURT IF HE ATTEMPTS TO SEND THIS MATTER TO A COLLECTION AGENCY, EITHER BY CONTRACTING THE COLLECTION OF THE FRAUDULENT DEBT OR SELLING THE FRAUDULENT DEBT.
I appreciate Angie’s List’s attempt to provide conflict resolution, but with a business owner the likes of Kevin St. Clair, he is ignorant and committing fraud. I am holding Angie’s List to their word in maintaining this business on the NEGATIVE LIST, along with my review so no other customers have to deal with this company.
"Dear Member, thank you for taking the time to post a report. We appreciate your feedback and your business! Sincerely, Kevin St. Clair"
UPDATE:
My attorney advised me to contact the Ohio Attorney General and file a complaint before we file a lawsuit in the HAMILTON County Court. I contacted The Ohio Attorney General's office today to file a complaint of fraud and extortion against Kevin St. Clair and his company Ray St. Clair Roofing, because he did not perform the work promised in the contract, and demanded payment, threatening sending the unpaid balance to collection, which will create real damages to my credit report. That is EXTORTION!
"Dear Member, we did offer to go back and blow in more insulation, even though we feel that we did what we said were going to do. We blew insulation in back in January and it does settle and pack down, so I am not sure how you arrive at your calculations. As I said, we offered to come back but you stated you did not want us to and wanted a discount, we which we gave you to settle this matter and put it behind us. As far as financing, we have no control of that. The bank approves you based on your credit, which is out of our hands. We did try and contact you several times, with no luck or return calls back. Sincerely, Kevin St. Clair"
"Dear Member, Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. We do appreciate it and are addressing them. We do appreciate your business. Sincerely, Kevin St. Clair"
"Dear Member, we appreciate your report and your business. Sincerely, Kevin St. Clair"
Very professional company. Looking at the roof they didn't recommend a complete replacement like so many other companies would do they said they could fix the leak by properly installing a new welded cricket.
After the installation I had concerns where the wall turned the corner creating an opening in the vinyl siding and gave them a call.
They came back out promptly to go over my concerns and explained that they didn't believe it would cause any leaking but reworked the siding to insure that there was no issues down the road.
I was very satisfied and would recommend them to anyone with a roofing problem that needs corrected.
"Dear Member, that you for your report. We appreciate your business and hope you call on us again in the future if the need arises. Sincerely, Kevin St. Clair"
