Willis was nice, professional and did a fair job with the condition of the floors.  His price was Moderate for the quality work being completed.  I have had similar floors refinished in the same building and those floors (finish product) looked slightly better and were smoother to the touch, but for the price the floors Willis did were satisfactory.  There was a small section of carpet between the kitchen and living room that need to be removed and the floors refinished.  Unfortunately he did not lift the carpet prior to giving me an estimate to see the condition of the floor beneath.  When they arrived to refinish the floor, they then noticed the floor under the carpet was damaged which lead to an approx 20% increase in price and added a extra day to the project.  I believe the repair was made correctly, he could have not fixed it and sanded/stained over it leaving it to become more damaged over time.  I was not expecting this, it should have been looked at and addressed in his estimate.  If I were to use Willis again, I would have to be very specific in what I expected in a finished product and make sure the estimate included absolutely everything.

We had an estimate done to refinish the hardwood floors in our entry way and kitchen.  We also had an estimate to have hardwood floors installed to match the flooring in the kitchen.  He was very courteous and personable.  We had estimates done by 3 other companies and Preston's had the best prices by far.

Willis came out promptly to bid on the hardwood floors. His price was much lower than the other three. He came out a week later and completed the job. The floors look great! I was so impressed by the quality of work, I had him bid on a small vinyl job in the basement. His partner Tony knocked this job out quickly and it looks very good.

We removed old carpet and decided to have our hardwood floors refinished. They looked terrible considering we have a small dog with an overactive bladder. I called the phone number and spoke with a live person immediately and a free estimate was set up. The owner was professional, prompt, and not pushy. He gave me a reasonable estimate and my husband and I took a few days to discuss it. When we decided to have the work done, the owner explained every step of the process in detail so there were no surprises.
We removed the old carpet as well as the tack from the hardwood floors in 3 rooms and a hallway. We were able to remove most of the staples, but several still remained as well as some sticky tape. We were immediately reassured by Preston Floor Care that they would take care of anything we may have trouble removing. They removed what we were not able to. We also moved the furniture out of each room before they came, but they did offer to help move big items if needed at no extra charge.
The day the work started, they hung plastic to minimize sand mess. Over a 3 day period, they sanded the floors, sealed them, then placed 3 coats of polyurethane down on the first 2 rooms and hallway. They strongly emphasized the importance of
allowing the polyurethane to cure prior to moving furniture back into the room (which was about 3 weeks). We could walk on the floors in socks in the meantime.
Preston Floor Care came back 3 weeks later and completed the last room. Working on the final room, after the second coat of polyurethane was drying (on a very humid day), he noticed it was not quite what he wanted. Instead of trying to do a quick fix, he came back the next day, did a light sand, seal, and several polyurethane coats. I was impressed he took such great pride in his work and my floors reflect it!
We are extremely happy with the outcome and service we received! Highly recommend.
