Oberer Construction is the ONLY contractor I will use for masonry repair and cement work. Prompt, courteous and honest in their estimates. I also liked the fact that once my repair was underway and it appeared that more work had to be done, I was advised BEFORE any additional work to place so I could authorize the minimal cost overrun. You cannot do better than this company for masonry and cement.

gary returned my call within a day and came out the next to give me an estimate.
his 2 sons came and worked all day saturday.
the walls and steps look fabulous.  they cleaned everything up afterward, were polite & professional .

Installed brick pavers on walkway in back, grill area and around can enclosure; remove wood deck, add soil and  sod, mulch front yard; add sod on right side of yard from grill up the hill; remove birds nest ferns and plant 4   bowling ball ferns I bought, move white stones to back of house; replace 70+ bricks around house and waterseal 

 all brick; includes removing debri and labor.. Total cost $7195.

They returned July, 2013 - Repaired brick walkway above water drain and at drain pipe from flooding.  Cost was $200.

They returned July, 2014 -  Repaired walkway from new fence being installed.  Cost $225.

Very happy with the results. Cleaned up after themselves, work was done well, made sure we were completely satisfied.

The estimate that I signed off on, outlined that the work I wanted done would be addressed: patching the deteriorating concrete, and doing some tuck point work above our garage door.
The initial work was done quickly and professionally, but they only did the patch work, and not the tuck pointing. I asked about this at the time, and was told that the tuck pointing wasn't in their work order, so someone else would probably be coming out the following day. No update or contact from Oberer for several weeks, when out of the blue, I get a call the Friday after Thanksgiving asking about the work. I replied that I was happy with the work that had been done, but that it was incomplete. Gary said that he'd send someone out the next business day to get things settled. The work was finally done almost 2 weeks later. I understand that weather plays a factor in this line of work, but an update would have still been appreciated.
I am happy with the work that was done. The price was very competitive. My only gripe is that they _really_ need to work on the customer-communication front.

They did such a good job on the first two projects that I used them again to re-build the rock walls in four landscape areas and I had the replace a retaining wall and steps made out of railroad ties with stone work to match my other existing stone work.

 

The work looks great, in fact two of my neighbors have hired them to do work for them as well.    The crew did a great job matching my existing work, cleaned up as they went and stayed on schedule even though there were a number of rainy days along the way.   These guys will get an concrete work that I have in the future.

Oberer Construction Co. spent two days tuckpointing our house and replacing bricks as needed.  We're preparing to have our two-story, 130 year old house painted and wanted to make sure the masonry was in good shape so that the paint would adhere well.  We got four estimates for this work and Oberer's quote was one of the most competitive and we had the most confidence in their masonry experience and professionalism.
Gary Oberer and his crew showed up when they said they would and did very good quality work on our house.  When the job was complete, Gary explained that there were fewer bricks that needed replacing and a bit more tuckpointing than anticipated.  His crew checked all of the brick and, while some are deteriorating, said they will hold paint fine and the application of the paint will actually water seal them.  The end cost was $100 less than the estimate.  Another company that quoted the job wanted to replace 93 bricks at the price of $15,000.  I highly recommend Oberer for their honesty and quality work.

Gary Oberer was the only masonry company that called me back after I left a message describing the work we needed. I probably contacted 3 other contractors and was very annoyed none of them ever responded. Gary was very friendly and helpful over the phone. He asked me to email him a few photos of the vents so that we could avoid the cost of him driving to our house to take a look. He provided a quote within 24 hours and followed up with a phone call 24 hours after that. We did not set a specific date for the work because it was exterior to the home (no need for anyone to be home) and they needed good weather (the forecast called for several rainy days). Within 2 weeks, we got a lucky break in the weather and the work was done in a few hours. I'm very pleased with the results! Gary and his son went to the house and it was the son who actually did the work. My only issue, and this may be small, is that while my husband was home that day (so the house was open), the son chose to "relieve" himself on the side of our house. I guess I never thought about this issue for contractors who work while no one is home, but seriously - the house was open! Just ask to use the bathroom, please. Again, just a minor professionalism issue. Even with that I would absolutely use this vendor again to do further masonry work on our house.

Gary, the owner, met us to give us a quote. We felt very comfortable with him and he had suggestions on how to best do the work to fix the issues.  He really seemed to know what he was talking about!  We had talked to 4 companies total about the work and liked the solution Gary suggested best (and he was the 2nd least expensive). He was able to schedule the work within a couple of days of us agreeing to work with him.  His crew came out twice, Gary then walked around the house with me to make sure I was completely satisfied (and he even pointed out a few things he wasn't completely happy with) and sent his crew back a 3rd time to touch up a few things.  Each day they cleaned up before they left.  I am very satisfied with the job done. It turned out better than I was expecting and I would definitely call him the next time I need anything masonry related. 
The company has been in business for 40 years.  I checked on the BBB and they have no complaints and are A+ rated.

They came, took up the bricks and stones, replaced the incorrect sand was put in by the people who fixed the water drain, put all back and the bricks are all even again.  They were very professional, efficient, courteous and we were very happy with the job.  We did have to keep rescheduling this job around their other bigger jobs, and also because of the rain. 

They were really good.  They came out and gave me an estimate on the job.  The job was completed within a week from the time they got here for the estimate.  They did an excellent job.  It is very hard to find such a good Mason in this area.  They were a good Mason, and professional at the job.  The quality of work looks good after it is done.  It was all done in a timely manner, so we were pleased.
