I had called Mr. Steve Unger, Hamilton Hardwood Flooring, to take measurements and install what I thought was hardwood flooring purchased from Menard's. The box from Menard's clearly stated hardwood flooring in oak. Well, when Steve came to measure I showed him the hardwood flooring. I was appalled by what came out of the box. It looked nothing like the sample I had seen at Menard's and it was, very clearly, not even close to hardwood flooring! It look more like a laminate and a cheap one at that. Steve talked to me about my options. I decided to return that supposed hardwood flooring to Menard's that day. Steve later that day brought samples of hardwood flooring made by Somerset Hardwood Flooring in Somerset, KY. It was absolutely beautiful! He was even able to match the natural red oak flooring in two other bedroom. The flooring was delivered on 12/5/13 by Mr. Dan Unger to give it time to acclimate to my home and Dan did state they keep their hardwood under controlled conditions with a set amount of humidity at all times. As scheduled, Steve arrived promptly with Mike, his installer. introduced me and then Steve showed Mike the bedroom and discussed the work. Mike installed the flooring in one day. He even put back the baseboards I had removed and they looked much better than they had originally. Mike even installed the new furnace air diffuser I had purchased that I had just sitting in the room! Even though the hardwood was cut to size back in the bedroom, when Mike left every thing was spotless! The flooring and the experience, after the huge disappointment about the poor quality of that supposed hardwood flooring from Menard's, were even beyond my expectations. I will be having this company back to put in a hardwood floor in my family room after the holidays I was that happy with the end result of all of their work.
