Dropped my machine off, without appointment, and picked it up the next week. When I described the problem I was having with the stitches they seemed to immediately know what needed adjusting. I got the machine back a few days later. They'd cleaned and oiled it, plus had a piece of fabric still on the plate with stitch examples showing it had been adjusting and was working properly.

I just purchased a new Riccar vacuum at Fairfield Sew & Vac from Scott, the owner.  He showed me exactly what I asked for without any sales pressure to move up or switch to a different brand.   The first Riccar he pulled out to show me was a higher end model, then he pulled the 1 I requested.  He told me the features and how they differed.  I was pleased with his direct answers and a little bit of salesmanship.  He vacuumed up a dish cloth into the vacuum and showed that it wouldn't burn out the belts.   I was very pleased with their pricing and bought it on the spot.  I went there just to look at them and get his initial pricing....but figured there's no way Kramer's in Montgomery was going to come close to that.   This is the first time I've been there...mostly because I was dreading the whole shopping experience....and was very pleased.   I'd recommend them to everyone.  I won't dread taking the vacuum there for it's annual free maintenance.
