Description of Work: I use them for hardware needs. They are very knowledgeable. Any time I have any issues around my house, 90% of the time, they have an answer for me. It is a quick stop for any kind of home improvement or maintenance projects. I have bought two lawn mowers from them as well. The first lawn mower, I had driven my car and had no way to transport it home. The sales associate loaded the lawn mower in his own truck and drove it to my home after he got off work. He unloaded it and showed me what I needed to know about it.

Description of Work: A personal experience from a US owned small hardware store. Being a woman, going to the "hardware" stores can be confusing and overwhelming and here the owners and employees are quickly able to identify what type of item you might need and if they don't have it they know exactly how to get it. Being a small owned local business they won't have "everything' onsite but they will go out of their way to get it and if they absolutely can't get it for you or if you do need it "right away" they are happy to call other local hardware store locations to find out where you might go to save you time. Customer service seems to appear their number one focus and although they are a locally owned small business hardware store they stay busy but always welcome everyone and for me as a female, I don't feel "stupid" asking a question.

 + -1 moreI needed a particular screw for putting together a baby crib that I had purchased at a garage sale. I would have felt silly going to a big box hardware store and asking for just one screw, but Fairfield Hardware specializes in individual customer service. The sales guy knew exactly what I needed and took me straight to it. I ended up buying a few things that were on sale at the same time. The staff is friendly, quick and very, very helpful, especially if you aren't quite sure what you need.

 + -1 moreThis is the primary hardware store I use on a regular basis because of their consistently reliable help and advice. I do not know why I have not submitted a report about this hardware store before because they have EXCELLENT and KNOWLEDGEABLE staff and fast service! They take the time to listen when you describe what you need but don't know the correct terminology and if something you get isn't quite right there is no problem with returns or trying something else.
Description of Work: I needed three longer screws for knobs on three bathroom cabinets as the ones that came with them were too short.
