I took my dog in for a hernia operation, I left him off and he was wagging his tail. I got a phone call from Med Vet saying he would probably not make it through thee night unless he had a operation and we would have to put up $5500 before they could operate. After they received our money they proceeded to tell me everything that could go wrong. The person seemed cold and unfeeling. My dog died from what was supposed to be a routine operation. To make matters worse the bill just happened to come to $5460 and checking with other vets should have been between $700-$1800. It is my opinion these people are very dishonest and are inexperienced butchers. If you love your pet, be AWARE of this place!!

They are NOT a 24/7 facility. They may be open but if you take your pet in on a Sunday it will be forced to wait until Monday morning for proper treatment. Our dog is paralyzed because they waited to perform an emergency surgery. Our dog had IVDD. Every website or research we have looked at states the first 24 hours is critical for a good outcome. Our regular vet also said it is critical. Yet they told us an overwhelming body of evidence shows otherwise. When asked to provide this "evidence" they could not and refused to do so. Bottom line is we took them a stage 3 dog, they let him sit overnight and deteriorate to a stage 5 before they operated. We paid well over 7,000.00 for them to permanently disable our dog. There is so much more that happened with this incident, including them telling us we needed to put our dog down if a follow-up MRI was not performed because of seizures and brain swelling that happened post-op...just please, please find a vet that you can go to in an emergency situation and do not trust MedVet. They will charge you emergency room 24/7 prices, but they do not provide that service. We complained but the medical director, Dr Wells was very condescending and did not care at all about our horrible experience.

My experience was stressful and discomforting to say the least. The scheduled surgery went as planned and he came home to recover. Two days later he was vomiting along with other symptoms and was lethargic. To be certain what I should do, I called MedVet and they said it is probably from the harsh medications on his stomach. They were able to treat him and took him off what he was on and prescribed medication to help. They called over the phone with the total as I waiting outside. It was $350 on top of the $3,000 I just paid for the surgery. They charged for a complete ED visit and disregarded the fact that this was caused from the surgery. After several weeks of arguing, I was told this was a mistake and I should not have been charged the exam. They refused to issue a refund on a unauthorized $80 Parvo test as well as $25 of dog food that he was sent home with. They were wrong in the first place and this was never settled. Do not trust this place with your pets and please do your research on costs compared to what you are charged.

Our vet was unable to see our dog on this Saturday and suggested we take her to MedVet. It went well. The vet ordered a couple of x-rays to see what was going on. He did a very thorough exam. He prescribed an antibiotic and an appetite stimulant. We would go there again in an emergency.

They were very good. Anyone that is an animal lover would go to this place. It's an emergency place and do regular care. They have optometrist there, cardiologist, a kidney doctor, all these for animals. It is very expensive. They fixed my cat up. My vet recommended them.

Shar pei can get shar pei fever.   The breeder had assured me this wasn't in their line.  THANK GOD these folks were thorough and found that she had a tick bite which caused this high fever.
These folks are awesome.  I was a mess when I got there - they took such good care of my puppy and answered my numerous calls to check in on her.   Love them - highly recommend them.  It is pricey but worth it when you love your pets as much as I do.

We have used this facilities several times. This time... To our great shocking heart break our precious Aussie came in with internal bleeding from Cancer of spleen and Liver. The Doctor gently and with care & respect Advised & helped us understand so we could make our difficult decision that had to be made. We had to say goodbye to our best buddy we loved so much. Heartbreak that words can not express. Family quickly came in to say good bye. The people here cared and showed great compassion. All was handled with privacy and respect We are very greatful.

I was referred to Dr. Susanna Schwartz.  She is an orthopedic surgeon at MedVet Cincinnati and MedVet Dayton.  Together, we have experienced 5 surgeries on Lucky's ankle.  She fully admitted when something went wrong and she admitted fault.  I admire this in a professional and it makes me trust her more.  Together, we made decisions on my dog's behalf and I really felt like I had a partner in all of this.  She gave me discounts on his later surgeries and found some financial assistance for me as well.  She always calls me back the same day if I have a question about his leg... no matter how big or small.  I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Schwartz if you have any orthopedic needs for your pet in Cincinnati or Dayton.

Dr Wells is very knowledgeable and explains things in easy to understand terms. I appreciate that my vet can call her monthly or anytime to go over my cats progress or setbacks, and together they determine the best course of treatment......my only negative is the long waiting room wait, which was over 3 hours.

. He was an old dog and in very poor health. Everyone there was so caring and comforting. In the end, we had to have him put to sleep, but we were given as much time with him as we needed.  We had his remains cremated and they put his remains in a sealed container with his date of death and a place to put his picture. They also included his footprint and a lovely poem called "Rainbow Bridge."

They show so much respect for both our dog and us.

If we ever need emergency vet services again, this is where we would go even though it is quite a distance from our house.

All of my interactions with this organization were professional and caring ... starting with the phone call to discuss the possibility of service, to the reception area, technician, and vet. I can't say enough about how caring and considerate they were in a difficult situation (emergency care, followed by a later appointment where my cat had to be put to sleep).

These folks are outstanding and Dr. Wright is wonderful. Work is timely, and I leave the office iwth a full report in hand. Excellent care. It is expensive, but this is what I expect for a business that provides urgent care 24/7.

When we first called they were not able to get her in for I believe three weeks. We had the doctors email address from before and had email her told us to call back and this was a revisit not a new patient and they got us in that Monday. Both times I have been please with the service except for minor thing this last time I had to wait an extra twenty minutes to check out the assistant had taken another patient first before coming to see me for instructions that the doctor told me was going to check on just to give her about five minutes. Dr. Schwartz is a wonderful doctor I would recommend her to animal owner.

My experience has been anything but pleasant. I went to my usual vet for the dog's initial exam and X-rays. My vet called Dr Maritato (surgery specialist) at MedVet to consult regarding the dog's condylar fracture. I was told to have my dog at MedVet the next morning at 8:00 a.m. and she would be seen by Dr Maritato's resident and evaluated for possible surgery. I was there on time, waited 20 minutes and then was told that my dog had to be checked in and seen by an emergency Vet before she could be evaluated by the surgery resident. I asked why, considering I had a direct referral and had my X-rays with me and they said that is just the way they do things. An hour later, the ER vet told me what I already know - that my dog had a broken front leg and that they wanted to do surgery to repair the break with an internal plate and screws. The next thing I know they are asking me to sign a $4,000 agreement without ever once talking to the surgeon regarding the repair, prognosis, etc. My dog is 13 years old with bad hind legs due to arthritis and there were many things to consider. I asked to see the surgeon before making a decision and they acted as if I was asking to meet the President O'Bama. Finally, they agreed and Dr. Maritato's resident did take the time to explain in detail what I should expect. They performed the surgery that afternoon.
The next day I picked up my dog and started to drive home realizing they forgot to give me the cone collar she was supposed to wear. I returned to pick that up. Arriving home, I starting going through her many medications and realized her prescriptions did not match the number of pills they gave me AND the prescriptions did not match the medication instruction sheet I was given. As a cardiovascular intensive care nurse, I find medication errors to be appalling. I called MedVet where I was transferred to several different people before someone finally said they would contact the surgery resident and call me back. She called back to say what I already knew, yes a mistake had been made, and I was welcome to drive back to the facility so they could correct their error. I was getting ready to get in the car when I also realized they forgot to give me my dog's most important medication - her pain medication! I called again and was told yes, they kept that in a different location of the facility and forgot to also give that to me! I mean really, my dog not having her pain medication after an extensive surgery?? I then asked to have the clinical manager call me on Monday to discuss all of these issues.
The clinical manager did call, and we talked about all of the errors I had experienced 1) paying over $700 for the emergency vet portion of the initial visit when I had a direct referral 2) failure to provide the included cone collar 3) the many medication errors. The manager said he would look into everything and call me back. A FULL WEEK LATER - he called and said they were sorry, and they would comp my dog's follow-up X-ray to the tune of a hole $95. (On a $4,000 bill - that is a whopping 2.3% discount)
Six weeks later, I phoned to make an appointment for her follow-up X-ray. I was put on hold a total of 6 times, and scheduling a simple appointment took me exactly 17 minutes!!!
To conclude, this place is disorganized and a rip off. For $4,000 they should be catering to my dog's every need efficiently, effectively, and safely. Instead, my dog is not walking on her leg as promised - and I have to waste time with their ill-trained staff, not to mention I still have not had any communication with Dr Maritato himself. I can only hope my June 17th follow-up appointment goes better than the travesty I have had to endure to date.

They are excellent in terms of surgery and emergency care. The best place to go is MedVet when your pets are in extreme distress. I would recommend them. We ended up going to them for both our cat and dog, and they handled it so well. To be honest, most vets in the area recommend MedVet when it requires surgery or more serious things like cancer. They are excellent.
