Current owners have a combined 35 years experience in the roofing industry. We are a CertainTeed Shingle Master company. For commercial work and flat roofing, we are licensed to install Firestone, Carlisle, Duro-last and Garland. Maxim Roofing is not a storm chaser; travel is limited to within an approximate 60-mile radius of Dayton, Ohio. Old-fashioned, personal attention to detail is vitally important to us, and you will be assisted by our friendly, helpful staff every step of the way. All employees are trained in their field of expertise, and are locally-hired Daytonians. Everyone at Maxim was easy to work with. The salesman who came to give me an estimate was smart and thorough. He had answers to almost all of my questions and called back the next day with answers to the other questions. The office staff was always helpful when I called. Finally, the installation crew was friendly, professional, hard working, and careful about their work.
Maxim was very flexible and they were able to start exactly on my requested start date. I did notice a math error, in my favor, on the estimate. I called Maxim to bring the math error to their attention and offered them the opportunity to increase the price to cover the error. They thanked me for my honesty but said that they would stick with the price as originally proposed. You certainly don't see that happen every day, or even very often,
During the process of putting on the roof, the crew made a few suggestions, and I asked for a few changes, both of which I thought were changes large enough to increase the price of the job. But Maxim did not ask for any more money.
Finally, near the end of the project, I asked for one more change that I suspected would take them over the hours that they had budgeted for my job. While the crew was doing the work, I called the Maxim office and explained the issue to them and said that I would certainly pay for the additional time they spent on the change. They called back and asked for payment for only a couple of hours of extra labor. I thought that it was a more-than-generous offer on their part.
The bottom line for me is that I am absolutely certain that I made the right choice in selecting Maxim Roofing Co. as my roofing contractor. Nice local people, great workmanship, admirable ethics, more than fair prices...overall, an excellent experience unequalled in my over 40 years of having a variety of homes reroofed. I would use them again in half a heartbeat!
So my final though is, why would anybody use anyone else for a roof job in the Greater Dayton area?

I was on vacation in Cape Coral Florida on Friday June 29, 2012, when I received a call on my cell phone from my next door neighbor. He informed me that we were hit with 80 to 90 MPH winds. The winds were very destructive and had severely damaged his roof and also mine. He had a representative from MAXIM roofing there and he mentioned that I had 20% to 25% of my shingles gone.
Since there were more storms anticipate I asked him if he could temporarily tarp my roof to avoid further damage. He did and brought another employee over to help with this job. I understand from my neighbor that they were there until 9:30 PM. I truly appreciate that MAXIM roofing delayed their weekend to help a home owner who was over 1000 miles away.
Needless to say, after I got back to my Tipp City home I received an estimation on what the cost would be to put on a new roof. They were extremely competitive and after working with my insurance company they got the contract.
They did a wonderful job on putting a new roof onto my home (and my neighbors) . I was very impressed with their punctuality, their professionalism, their follow up in cleaning the area and their hard work in mid 90 degree temperatures. I also appreciate the fact that all of the individuals working at my home were native, home grown Daytonians, I know if there is a question or problem in the future, I can contact them since they are all local. I rate this company an A+ --an excellent job MAXIM roofing!

So far, their responsiveness in answering when I ask for an estimate and all the stuff that they've done so far has been fantastic. So far they've been extremely responsive, they got the estimate back within 24 hours. They were very clear about all the work that would be done. It was a well put together quote. I had another estimate from another company so I could compare them real easily. The office people answering the phones have always been pretty prompt. They did discount for paying with a check instead of credit. That's nice to have $300 off. For the estimates, they were right here when they said they were going to be here. I made an appointment. They exchanged cell phone numbers too, so if they need to contact us, then they could get a hold of us. They are very professional. They were really up front and honest with us. We were thinking we had hail damage, they were honest and said that hail had struck the roof but hail doesn't cause the kind of damage we had. They said if they were them, they wouldn't make a claim with the insurance company. They were just being honest. They went on to say that different insurance companies handle things differently, so they were really up front. They weren't trying to discourage us from putting an insurance claim in, but if it were them, they would just say the work is related to poor design and not to storm damage.

I looked at many companies and got 3 estimates that were pretty high along with conflicting advice on rubber roofing. When I spoke with Maxim Roofing I realized quickly, unlike the others, they were more knowledgeable and professional. They did the job right away and went the extra mile to ensure a grade A job. I recommend them without reservation!

The whole experience was great. I had 4-5 other roofers come out and estimate the job. Maxim was the cheapest. Only a week or two after I accepted the proposal, they came out and started working- extremely fast! (This was during the time this year that it rained nearly every day for months!)
Both days that they worked were 90° or more, yet they finished quickly, and didn't leave anything for me to clean up.

This company scheduled the job to penetrate the roof and flash the curb on a commercial building. They were on time, as always, finished the job quickly, excellent quality, clean, and finished before estimated time. We love to work with this company as they always show up on time and complete a very professional quality job. Penetrating a roof and flashing a curb can be a tricky job but this company always completes it with no leaks afterwards. Don't be afraid to use this company. Very trustworthy and honest. I would recommend this company to anyone.

First of all, I selected them based on ratings in Angie's List, Both the number and the time span impressed me.
The estimator was thorough and accurate. He climbed up and physically inspected both sections.

We had storm damage from the ice storm in February. We had a roofing company working with us who simply stopped calling us back. We went to Maxim and had a really good experience from estimate to finished job. It took longer than we had planned to replace the roof because of the bad weather, but of course, that was not the fault of the company. The roof looks great and so do the gutters. We worked with Kevin who kept us informed throughout the process. Great company, very professional, and a great looking roof! We would definitely recommend them to others.

I think that they did a really good job. They were quite accommodating and basically got me the roofing solution that I needed. They did good gutter work too. They did the gutters for about $300. I recently called them out because I had a leak around my door. They got up there and found that the leak was from the chimney. They fixed the problem for me. They are very helpful.

I got 4 estimates. This one seemed offer the best value. [Another contractor- Ravlin's Roofing also had competitive bid and I could have gone for him too. Other two bids were 3000 and 7500 higher, respective, and I did not see them offering any additional value. All had detailed quotes that spelled out items and were comparable.] Because the supplier does not keep much stock of this (Premium shingles) product and the roofer underestimated slightly, when they ran out, one days worth of work halted for a week. Took 5 or 6 days of total work. Other than that interim delay, every thing went perfectly. Frank (the estimator/supervisor) and Becky (the office staff - I did stop by their office to see the operation before signing the contract) were very pleasant and professional. I primarily used emails to communicate with both (occasionally cell phone for Frank) and both were forthcoming answers for my questions. Right now the roof looks beautiful-- of course time will tell if there is any problem. At this point, I am very pleased with the whole experience and the results.

This is a professional and responsive organization. I got 5 other bids for comparison. Maxim was definitely the best in all respects. Answered all of my many questions by phone and email while I was pricing and getting bids.The sales rep really worked with me to get the upgraded materials and applications that we wanted. Once we were able to schedule, they kept to the arranged schedule. They tore off and worked on only the area they could finish in one day to avoid leaving the house open to potential rain damage. They cleaned up well each day with a final clean at the end. They may have given us a bit of a deal on the Deck Armor or one of the other upgrades. When the final bill came it was a little more than the quoted price, but I referred them back to the original quote and they honored that original price. The sales rep and the roofers were personable, knowledgeable and more than willing to educate and answer questions. Great esthetic sense: Rather than stopping at the end of the ridge vent they extended the ridge cap shingles all the way to the edge of the roof on the house, dormer and detatched garage which gives them a much cleaner line than I often see on other houses with ridge vents. We notice a vast improvement in climate control with the upgraded ventilation they installed. The roof is great ? and looks great as well!

It went great all things considered. We didn't want to schedule the job until we had the money from the insurance company in our hands. We got our proposal in late-October 2008 and the work was done in mid-February 2009. It was a long time to wait, but they and all the other roofers in town were backed up as well. The owners of the company live a few houses down from us and we were already on friendly terms so the transaction was very casual. We didn't feel a need to pressure them since there was no evidence of any leakage due to the damage. Once the work began, it was done in a reasonable amount of time. The men did their work out in the cold, but were professional and respectful. They cleaned up whatever mess they made and didn't seem to require anything of us. The roof looks great - way better than the one that was damaged. We are very pleased with the work that was done and how it was done.

Overall good experience. The estimator, Joe didn't try to sell me a bunch of crap I didn't need and would discuss any question or concerns with me at length. The owners wife personally dropped off shingle samples for us to look at. Gave us addresses of houses they did work on to see the shingles we were considering in person. Also, highly recommend doing this as the shingle colors take on a life of their own when you see them in person. Helps eliminate any surprises. Only one small problem, a roof vent was misaligned. I noticed this about 2 months after the fact. They fixed the problem within a reasonable amount of time. (They were swamped due to a once in a lifetime windstorm that hit the area). Our new roof survived the wind storm with flying colors. Price very reasonable. Roofing is something you MUST get three estimates on. Their BBB rating is spotless and roofing is the number #1 complained about item.

The September wind storm tore many shingles from our roof. We got estimates from 5 roofing companies and selected Maxim based on their professionalism and a personal recommendation from a neighbor. They completed the work in a timely manner, considering everyone one the area was having roofs replaced, and the quality of the work was fine. One minor problem, the shingles pinned down the dryer vent, but they were prompt in investigating the problem and fixing it.
