The work took longer than expected due to the weather. Two years after the work was completed, most of the problem concrete is falling out of the brinkwork. Very bad workmanship. I called to have him come back to fix the brickwork, but my calls went unanswered. Bottom line, if you are going to use this guy, hold back 20% so you have some leverage. I will never use him again and will never recommend him to anyone.

He was quick to collect and quick to leave. I tried to get hold of him to come back and fix a couple of things; he did it once but then the second time I called him he never responded. Price wise it was expensive. I will not use him in the future.

The contract contained references to all of the essential items of work to be accomplished so that we were clear about what was expected. Dan requested an initial payment of 40% up front to cover the materials. The actual work was done by someone working for Dan. The quality of work was excellent. Dan purchased better quality materials then were originally used by the builder and provided a good solution to prevent future water damage. Overall it was a good experience. I was told that he does a lot of work with concrete so I will consider him for that in the future.

Dan was the lowest bidder for the package we wanted. He had several good references for smaller jobs. We wrote him a check for materials when we signed the contract and 48 hours later - the semi showed up. During the initial phase, he was on the job site regularly and much progress was made. As work progressed, we felt that he was "chasing checks" - he would do enough (95% of contract requirements) to aggressively seek his next draw. Once payment was received, sometimes work would continue on schedule and sometimes, they would disappear to the next job site. As we checked the quality of his work, we found where he took many shortcuts. We called them to his attention and he responded with "that's industry standard" or "I didn't bid that". For example, drywall consisted of only the drywall hung on the walls and ceiling, not the window returns. That was extra! At times, if he wasn't sure about how we wanted something done, he just guessed and never asked. This caused him to have to go back and correct the issues later. He left a mess at the job site (tried to blame it on other contractors) and seemed to argue over petty details. Kept claiming a section of Ohio Revised Code regarding payment issues. We called the Ohio Attorney General's office and they knew of no such section of the code. We eventually decided to finish up items ourselves that he was responsible for in order to expedite the completion of the project.
