Generally, Power Alarm is a good company with good people. On the downside, their scheduling is atrocious. Initially, Jim, the scheduler, called and tried to set up an appointment for later that same day. I like to schedule appointments in advance. His manner was assertive. I suggested that the next week would be better. He indicated that he would call on the following Monday. Instead, a technician rang the doorbell, knocked on the door and called my cell phone while he was at the door at 9 am on on the next Monday. There was no prior call to make arrangements or any advance notice. This was not a misunderstanding. The scheduling of the service call was purely for the convenience of the scheduler. I was not feeling well, and the technician did not offer to come back later. The scheduling was totalling inconsiderate. If I had not been a long-term customer, I would not have agreed to do any further business with the company. Also, the technician did the work before I had even signed the proposal for the upgrades, I had asked the scheduler about the paperwork, and he must not have followed through. I asked the technician and received the contracts later that day. There were other miscues along the way, but they were stupid stuff and nothing as rude and onerous as the scheduling. When Power Alarm upgraded my system for a new network the previous October, the technician was friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The visit went smoothly, and I learned more about my system and the options available.I would hope that my experience with the company would be more like the former call and less like the latter. Again, there had been a problem with the appointment scheduling, Even though I already had an appointment scheduled, I received an urgent call that I must respond to a letter and set up an appointment for the network upgrade immediately. I discussed my concerns with a manager, and she was very appreciative of the feedback, and she resolved an issue for me. She stressed that customer service is a priority, and my experience was an anomaly. We'll see.

I would rate them an A overall. The price is pretty fair. They are very responsive.

This company has provided central monitoring of my alarm system. They do call quickly when the alarm is triggered. One time, however, the battery was low and they neglected to call me (they also monitor the back-up battery as part of their service). The alarm did not work for a few days and I was unhappy about that.

Horrible. I would never do business with them again. They blame everyone else for the problems that we have. The builder, the electrician, my family, etc. Yet, they refuse to come out and fix the real issue, their system that they installed.

I FEEL THAT I HAVE RECEIVED GREAT SERVICE FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY CALL WHEN THEY NOTICE THAT THE BATTERY BACK-UP IS RUNNING LOW ON CHARGE TO GIVE ME PLENTY OF TIME TO REPLACE THE BATTERY. THEY WERE QUICK and EFFICIENT AT CONTACTING ME WHEN THEY HAD TO DO SO. IT IS NICE TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE THERE "IN THE BACKGROUND".

THEY INSTALLED OUR ALARM DESPITE OUR PURCHASING THE ACTUAL ALARM SYSTEM ELSEWHERE. THEY PERFORM THE MONTHLY MONITORING AND WILL DISCOUNT THE MONITORING PRICE IF THE YEARLY TOTAL IS PAID IN FULL ON THE ANNIVERSARY DATE OF THE INITIATION OF SERVICE.
