THE GUTTER COVER CO

We've waited a year to post this review so that we'd have sufficient time to determine the true quality of the product. We are very satisfied! The roof and gutter design of our house directs a high quantity of water to one specific point, resulting in extreme icicles to form at this one spot. The typical gutter warmers you buy from the store and install in zig-zag fashion were ugly and a nuisance. We needed a more permanent solution. The Gutter Toppers installed by the Gutter Cover Company have totally stopped the problem and are easily operated by switch installed in the house. At first glance the price seems a bit high given the limited materials and labor required to install, but we never worry now and that alone seems worth the cost. Our only concern was a possible discrepancy or misunderstanding regarding the transferability of the warranties. I would caution anyone using this service to just make sure all the oral and written details match. Otherwise I recommend the Gutter Cover Company and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

It went very well. The estimator and all workers were prompt and professional.

We had the gutter covers installed. The installation was poorly done, had the salesman out for a complaint with unfinished work. He promised to have the problem corrected and we are still waiting to hear from them. After the first winter with the gutter covers, we had huge ice cycles form on the gutters, when we never had this issue before. Called and was given another estimate to put on their gutter cover heater for triple the amount of the gutter covers. Very disappointed with this product and the company.

Spoke with Jim about getting an estimate. He stopped by at the appointed time. We discussed the job, he surveyed the house, we decided to keep the existing downspouts, and he provided an estimate. The price was reduced with discounts, but still was nearly double that of gutters without covers. In the end, I did not want to climb any more long ladders and decided to go with this company. In less than two weeks the job was completed. A pair of men, contracted by this company, came at the arranged time. They first removed the old gutters and then installed the new ones. Downspouts were also supposed to be cleaned, and I saw at least one being emptied. No testing of the gutters was performed. The pair were done in a couple hours, just as Mike, an employee of the company, arrived to install the covers. The covers went up without a hitch and looked nice. Mike explained that the rain might spill over a bit at first, but with the washing off of factory oil would collect the rain as designed. He also said that the warranty would be in the mail (received it a few days later). With the first heavy rain I noticed that the one downspout was not working right; most of the water traveled on the outside of the gutter and little came out the end. I called Jim. The next day Mike arranged to visit. He arrived on time and immediately went to work. He discovered that the downspout was clogged; the other workers had not done a complete cleaning as promised. I was disappointed that the contracted crew did not do great work, but I was pleased with the company's response to my call. I feel more confident that if problems occur in the future, the problems will be resolved quickly. I suggest that customers insist that the crew check the workings of the gutters and downspouts (with a hose) before the crew leaves.

Last fall (November 2104) I had the The Gutter Cover company install the Gutter Cover system along with the Heater Cap system

and I am extremely happy with the purchase. I only had them install the Heater Cap on the 1st floor level of the house because

I have always had trouble with ice dams and icycle formation on that portion of the roof. The installer was very polite and did

a great job installing the system. There was one problem scheduling the electricians for the electrical install of the Heater Cap

but The Gutter Cover Company resolved the situation in a professional and courteous manner. Having the gutter heaters this winter were a good decision and they kept the gutters flowing the entire time, no ice dams or massive icycles at all. They did add about $200/month to the electric bill but it was a severe winter and the heaters were on 24/7. I would have paid twice that much just for the peace of mind in knowing that the ice dams would not be forming again. I didn't have them install Gutter Covers on the

entire home but I will likely ask them to come out again this year and finish the job. NOTE: the cost of the service that I

listed also included $575 for the electrical install ($3850 for the Gutter Cover/Heater Cap install).

When Mike came out he was professional and thorough his presentation was well prepared and effective. He worked with us to make sure we purchased no more than we needed. There was no pressure. Just a solid product to sell. We set a date that would work for us. The installer came , he was polite, and got the job completed in good time. There was no inconvenience. It was a good experience all around.

They looked at the pictures of the ice problems I had last winter and suggested a heated gutter system for the front of the house. The man that did the installation seemed very competent. The way this winter has been, I hate to think what would have happened if I hadn't had this system installed. It's expensive but seems to be worth the money.

Gutter cover people eliminated the terrible icicle probel we had thus making it possible for us to install a deck and elevator for easy entrance into our house for an invalid.  We did not install covers, just the heater unit and the wiring that was required for it and the elevator - electrical wiring was done by Chesterland Electric as a specialty company was needed for that  Very thrilled with results and work that was done.

We have an extremely long roof line and a lot of gutter space. It went well even though they had to chase bees out of the way to do a section.

The initial work was great.I have since needed someone to come out and inspect 2 areas that need work.I know this is not under warranty any longer.I am willing to pay for the work that is needed.I have called Mike and Dustin multiple times.No one has come out yet.

Couldn't have asked for a more professional crew or complete job.  Haven't had to clean the gutters since they were installed.

Overall they did a excellant job and clean-up after thereselves.

They were very good and on time. They got the job done without any problems. The quality of their work has been fine at the moment. I spent a couple of thousand dollars for the job. Their price was the best that I got.

The Gutter Topper was installed four years ago by the Gutter Cover Company. Although it does prevent leaves, acorns, etc., from entering the gutter, it will not prevent pine needles from entering. Two years ago the needles clogged the downspout and the company honored the lifetime performance warranty as specifies in the contract. It occurred again this past autumn. I contacted the company on numerous occasions. Finally work was scheduled for the first week in November. No one showed. I called numerous times since. I keep getting an answering service with the promise that I will be contacted. No one has made the attempt to contact me. I finally had to unscrew the gutter topper myself (over the downspout) and remove the pine needles that had clogged it. Before ordering a Gutter Topper from this company, keep in mind that the lifetime performance warranty is meaningless.

ON TIME, EFFICIENT.

THE FIRST BIG SNOW, THERE WAS A BACK UP ON THE GUTTER, IN THE BACK, AND WATER CAME INTO THE HOUSE. I CALLED THE GUY AND TOLD HIM ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND HE KINDA GAVE ME A HARD TIME ABOUT IT. I HAD TO THREATEN TO FILE COMPLAINTS, BEFORE HE WAS WILLING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. HE DID COME OUT AND FIX THAT. RECENTLY, WE'VE HAD THESE RAIN STORMS AND I'VE FOUND THAT THE WATER DOESN'T DRAIN PROPERLY IN A COUPLE OF AREAS, IT COMES DOWN THE SIDE OF THE HOUSE. SO I'LL HAVE TO SEE IF HE'LL COME AND FIX THAT, AS WELL.

THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS EXCELLENT. THE ESTIMATOR ARRIVED ON TIME AND WAS COURTEOUS. THEY SCHEDULED INSTALLATION TO MEET MY NEEDS. THEY DID THE JOB EFFECTIVELY AND ON TIME. THEY RETURNED PROMPTLY TO CORRECT A SLIGHT INSTALLATION PROBLEM.

I WAS GENERALLY PLEASED WITH THE WORK PERFORMED. I WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THEIR LACK OF RESPONSIVENESS TO MY NUMEROUS CALLS.
