Hal cleaned it, thoroughly inspected it. He replaced several wire connections ( unit is 29 yo) and checked the Freon level/ pressure. He stated the unit was still functional despite its age and encouraged us to start looking for a replacement as our unit is nearing the end of its reliability but did not pressure us to buy a new one. He was professional, knowledgeable, and careful to avoid injury to a giant Hosta next to AC. We highly recommend Hal and Luxury. They have always provided good service for their products. In 29 years, our Trane system has been reliable needing repairs only 2 times.

The Luxury technicians accomplished the three jobs quickly and efficiently. They were courteous, careful to wear masks, wore booties on their shoes when inside the house and careful to keep the dogs in the house when using the outside doors. They took time to explain in detail how everything worked. We were very pleased with everything.

Almost scammed out of $10,500 today from Luxury Heating and Air Conditioning. Our family has been using Luxury Heating for the past 16 years when they installed a new $25,000 train heat system until now when they tried to scam us because they knew my family and our businesses have the money to put a new system in when we don’t need one. Thank God we had another heating and cooling company that we use for another business of ours came out today for a second opinion. I pray they don’t do this to anyone else. When the technician came out for his first time, he looked like he was in his pajamas and not really ready to work on a heat system. I called Luxury heating because our heat wasn’t working properly and the house was chilly. He was here less than 20 minutes and said that there’s positively was a leak and that there was no way to fix the leak. Bottom line from Luxury Heating is that we have to pay to install a new system. He said it would be too hard to find the leak and on the expense of the refrigerant. He also told us that we have emergency heat to use, but never checked the breaker for us so we were left without heat for a whole week. Thank God for the 2nd opinion from the other company because there is no leak. They inspected the operation of our heat pump and reset a tripped breaker for auxiliary heating elements-found outdoor fan motor not operating due to bad run capacitor and burnt wire-cycles the system. Replaced both the capacitor, burnt wire and removed a mouse from heat pump. Our system did not have a leak and our heat is working. He has to come back to replace our air filter and contractors. Bottom line- tried to scam us for $10,500 because they know we have to money to pay for it! Thank God for the second opinion or we would have spent $10,500 that we don’t need to do. Shame on Luxury Heating.

"The system that we were out to service is a 16 year old all-electric heat pump system that uses the now-obsolete R-22 refrigerant. Our service technician found that the system is low on refrigerant, which is a sign that there is a refrigerant leak most likely in the indoor or outdoor evaporator coil, so he recommended that the 16 year old R-22 system be replaced with a new R-410a system. You informed us that the other contractor did not know how to charge or check the charge in the system, while our technician has the experience to locate the refrigerant charge chart and did so. This is how he was able to determine that there is in fact a leak in the system, and is documented in his diagnostic report. If a technician cannot check the system charge, he cannot say there is no leak. This auxiliary heater a.k.a. emergency heat is how my service technician left the system in heating mode when he completed your service call. As your other contractor noted, the breaker continuously trips, which turns the emergency heat off. And the breaker tripping is why you were under the impression that our technician left your home without heat – his diagnostic report that was sent to the building owner reads that the emergency heat was on when he left. It’s hard to tell how long after he left that the breaker tripped, turning your heat back off. Sometimes the more appealing and less expensive option seems like it makes sense in the moment. I'm sorry we didn't provide more options other than to replace the system. We’ve had a wonderful history working for your mother for 16 years at her various properties, including this one. I am sorry that this has caused a breach in your trust, but my hope is that even though you don’t agree with our recommendation to replace rather than repair that system, that you understand that we had your family’s long term best interest at heart."

Response time was excellent. The tech checked furnace thoroughly. Everything was in proper working order. He determined that a heavy wind gust entered the exhaust vent which caused the furnace to cycle off for 3 hours as it is designed to do. This was an education since I was not aware of this feature and had never experienced it in 14 years in our home. The tech pointed out that the inside of the furnace cover described this potential situation. The heat came back during his visit.

The entire staff (from phone call to installation), was efficient, professional and courteous. I’ve never been happier with a home service. We just moved into a split level home and the furnace is not powerful enough to reach some of our home. We were unbiasedly provided with multiple options and given ample time to decide. The estimate was the most thorough of all 4 estimates we received. The price was comparable with all other places. When we decided on installing the Mitsubishi “slim” units in two bedrooms, the job was scheduled within one week. When staff arrived, they immediately covered all floor surfaces with tarps to ensure mess was contained. The installation staff were beyond professional and so efficient. The job was done in two days with zero interruption in our daily schedule (I have a toddler, too!). Hands down, I would recommend Luxury to anyone. We will definitely use them for any future needs on our home.

Paul at Luxury went above and beyond what the other contractors had done. I feel the most important part of my decision is that Paul did a load range on the house and drew diagrams of the air flow that the units would provide. No other contractor had done that. He went out of his way to help me decide how many and what size units to go with, by coming over at least 3 different times, with 4 different plans, all with separate diagrams. I decided to go with Luxury for those reasons, and I could see that he had very much knowledge in the Mini Split Ductless Units., as they are a Diamond Contractor They also had a good report on Angie's List. The installers were all very courteous and that was a plus, as you don't see that all the time. They addressed any issues that came up and I am happy with the install.
