Bill came out to my home to provide an estimate on a few areas of concern that were uncovered during a house inspection. I made the appointment with Bill's office, which he late followed up upon to gather more details. Bill arrived on time the day of the appointment and even called before to let me know he was 10 minutes away. Bill then proceeded to perform his inspection and then went over a detailed printed report of his findings. He did inform me that some of my concerns regarding proper venting and flashing were actually ok and the level of repairs needed was nowhere near what I was expecting. His honestly was very much appreciated. Since there was no immediate threat off damage we have decided to wait until spring to have our repairs made. At that time, we will use Bill Jackson roofing.

Attic inspection lead to discovery of some problems with venting. Recommended vented soffits in problem area. Did good job with installing soffitts and making repairs. I will consider for future roof.

This was an Angie's List $99 roof maintenance package with a "value" of $250. Bill Jackson himself briefly inspected the roof and gave me a $1235.40 estimate for reshingling and sealing around chimney and stacks ,chimney tuck pointing, and ice guard, all of which were way beyond the scope of the package, in fact the first words out of his mouth when he arrived were to inquire about flashing issues. The package was to include inspection, minor roof repairs, reseal around pipe collars and up to four flashing penetrations which is all my roof really needed. Also included was an interior inspection to check for leaks. He never set foot in the house, or asked to. From his photos and my brother's past looks, I told him what little needed to be done really, to which he huffily replied that he'd send two guys out with a bucket to reseal those small areas- for an additional $60. So all I got for my $250 "value" was a brief roof inspection and quote, which would be free to any cold caller, a $99 discount off the elaborate upsell( take that for what it's worth), and zero actual maintenance. This was simply a foot in the door sales call. A request for a refund a week later was refused, as I knew it would be from spending what little time I did with this operator.

"[Removed member name], The issues on your roof were bad. You had holes in your metal flashing and it is falling off your chimney. I took pictures of everything that was wrong so that you could see up close that you might not of seen from the ground. You had mortar not just falling out between bricks but totally gone. I would still advise you to get the repairs done as bricks can fall off your home and hurt someone. To fix your roof would take few guys approximate 6-8 hrs of work. I just can't do that for 99.00 I also wasn't going to take a bucket of roof cement an install all around your chimney as you wanted me to do. I just cant destroy my reputation with that kind of work. As far as a refund we told you that if you wanted your money back you would have to go through angie list. If there is anything we can do to change your opinion of our company we are willing on our end."

Bill Jackson was great. He was on time, professional, and addressed all my concerns. At the end of the appointment, he alerted me to a couple of items on the roof that will need replaced in a few years, but there was zero pressure to get work done before it was necessary. I highly recommend Bill Jackson Roofing!
