This is an update to downgrade my previous review from D to F. We were just notified that the contractor never scheduled the final building inspection. I scheduled it and it failed. Now we get to pay more to fix what was not done right, but not with this contractor.

JP Frizzell did not follow the contract and put a seam midway down the roof.  The roof was supposed to be one piece construction.  Frizzell did not respond to my complaints about the roof construction while it was being built.  He refused to replace the roof and build it according to the original drawing and contract.  The seamed roof leaks.  I'm going to have to hire a lawyer and take him to court to get him to build the roof according to the original drawing and contract.  Frizzell accused me of trying to get out of paying him but the opposite is true.  He's trying to get out of replacing a roof that was seamed so he could save a few bucks on metal.  He's a nightmare to work with.

The concrete work was perfect. That's about the only thing that went well. It was a constant struggle and required us to call them to come back at several stages of construction. It all boiled down to a lack of communication between Frizzell as the contractor and his sub-contractors. Here's the list: - Block foundation for new garage had the opening for the door facing the wrong direction. - The garage door opening was 8 feet high and they bought a 7 feet high door. - The vinyl siding was attached with the overlap alternating directions. We could see seems everywhere. - The exterior lights face different directions. One points north and the other west. - The exterior light were on different switches. - We asked for HVAC duct to be installed, but he didn't want to get the permits. As I was half-way through putting in the duct a HVAC company pulled up to install the duct. - We wanted a 220V outlet moved and marked the spot. They moved it to the wrong wall. - They brush painted the metal entry door. There are brush streaks all over it. - They put down a pile of cold pack asphalt for the garage approach. It was soft and looked awful. We had to argue to have it removed and replaced with concrete. - One of the downspouts was angled to have the rain water come out under a wooden sidewalk, instead of along the sidewalk into the dirt. Most of our complaints could have been avoided if they had communicated with each other or us. We would not recommend this contractor.

We had a bedroom addition added onto our house by JP Frizzell construction and the experience was great, timely, professional, and well built. Very happy with the job.
