"Thank you mr [Member Name Removed] customers like you make our job worthwhile l will continue to do the best that I can for everyone that comes to RTS service center"
Our car started shifting hard and it thumped when it shifted so my husband had OnStar check it while he was driving and they said the computer was telling them the transmission was going bad. They advised my husband to get it to a shop to be fixed right away so he drove straight home. We have only been back from Texas a little over a year and didn't have a mechanic yet so I looked on Angie's list for one that was close to us. I found a couple but I liked what was said about RTS and the good work but mostly being honest. You don't find that to much these days so I called and he told me to bring the car right up but it would take several days which we expected. In the meantime we were told that the gadget our insurance company had us put in our car to check our driving for further discounts could be causing the problem so we took it out and had OnStar check it again. This time they said that it showed a problem in the engine and sometimes engine problems can make it seem like there is transmission problems. When we dropped the car off at RTS we explained everything to then and told him we didn't know if it was the transmission or the engine. He had the car for 4-5 days and checked the transmission, the axles and all the fluids. He changed the transmission fluid because he said it was dirty and he ran a diagnostic on the engine. The engine was fine but the problem was a small rust spot around the gas cap was not allowing it to seal properly which caused some kind of problem with fumes or something backing up and the check engine light came on. They sanded off the rust and smoothed it out so the cap would seal and reset the light. He test drove it and it was fine. He did not charge us for the engine diagnostic or a couple small things. He charged us for the transmission fluid change, oil change, sanding and fixing the gas cap and checking the transmission to find any problems with it. We had no idea what was wrong with our car so he could have told us the transmission was bad and we would not have known the difference right then or said it was something in the engine but he was honest! which was what we were looking for. He did a good job for a good price! It was refreshing to not hear a bunch of sales garble or explanations why you need to spend hundreds of dollars on your car now so it won't cost you thousands in 2-3 months. We will continue to use RTS.
