We saw GreenDay Systems at the Home Improvement Show at the IX Center and were intrigued by the building technique. We then met with Dave Muraco and discussed our wants and design ideas. Soon after we received an estimate and a preliminary design. Dave was very receptive to our input and any changes we wanted to make. We chose stone for the floor and walls, and work started the day after the materials arrived. The holes were dug and inspected for the posts, and the frame was built fairly quick. When we saw the stone for the walls(which were suggested by the stone supplier) we all hated it. Dave contacted the supplier and we were able to pick a different stone which was delivered the next day. The floor pavers were a custom mix of two different colors, they really took their time to make sure it looked right, and it turned out beautifully. They also built an impressive stepped entrance complete with landings and built in planter boxes. Everything was completed in about 2-3 weeks. Due to the wet winter they had to come back later to make some final touch ups. Lighting was installed as part of our package, and their great electrician also installed another outdoor outlet for us. The crew was fabulous and we enjoyed having them around. Our yard was not damaged, and by spring you couldn't tell we had any work done. Everyone loves our new patio, we get a lot of WOW's. Actually it looks so good we now call it our terrace, lol. Within a couple of days there was already a problem with it. The shaft the crank is on would pop out of its mounting points. The gears would no longer mesh. I have to hold the shaft in with one hand while cranking with the other.
Within a couple of weeks there was an even bigger problem. The drum is starting to come out of its mounting point. I am afraid to use it.
I called them about these problems. No call back after several days. I called again. Nothing. I sent e-mail to the company via e-mail. I then called the other partner in the company and he answered. He was nice and apologetic and said his partner would call back. He hasn't.
BTW, the composter isn't really working that well either as a composter. It never seems to get as hot as it should and I am experienced composter.
