I have recently noticed it roofing, did call him, he came out and sealed a few cracks which did not help at all, and it didn't help is still leaking, called him and he never responded, so I had to call another roofing company and they had to replace the whole roof again, he never did any tie ins, some of the roof had 6 layers, and they said it not even legal to have more than 2. He did a horrible job. He did not do any tariffs, he just put new roofing material on top of old roofing material. The roofing company that had to redo it, charged me less then what he charged me as well.

Came out as soon as I called to see what the problem was, got the job done immediately after. Told me exactly what had happened. Repaired another part of the same previously badly done job as well. Inspected the rest of the roof to insure everything was OK. I was extremely pleased with the attitude & professionalism -- going up on a roof that's under snow & ice can't be fun, but they did it, even giving me a couple of options on what to do, depending on what I wanted to spend right then.

They came and did a very good job. They took the old roof off and put the new one on. They got everything done in one day. I felt very comfortable with them doing the work. They came right after I called and answered any questions. They took care of the problem very efficiently and quickly.

I got 4 other estimates, and Jerry's estimate was the lowest of the roofers who used the highest quality (30 year) name-brand shingles. He also had the most sensible solution for replacing the roofing under a wooden arbor that is partially supported by the roof. He did not scare me (as did some of the companies) with the unknown cost of replacing rotten boards under the shingles. He said that he felt confident, after walking the roof, that the wood under the shingles was in good shape and that he probably wouldn't have to replace any of it. I told him that I would appreciate having the job done before I had to host a party in May, and he was very accommodating with the scheduling. His crew showed up on time and got the job done according to schedule. The clean-up was pretty thorough. I had a problem with one of my gutters, due to the way the crew positioned the arbor after replacing the shingles, and they came out the same day to fix the problem. I would recommend Gabor highly.

THE INSPECTOR TOLD US THAT THE OVERGROWTH OF MOLD WAS DUE TO THE LACK OF PROPER VENTILATION. A MOLD RE MEDIATOR SAID WE HAD 3 DIFFERENT KINDS OF MOLD UP THERE. MY FAMILY HAS HEALTH PROBLEMS, SO WE HAD TO GET THE HATCH CLOSED UP SO THE MOLD DOES NOT COME INTO THE HOUSE. WE CONTACTED THE ROOFER, BECAUSE WE FEEL HE SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SOME OF THESE CHARGES. HE SAID HE WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL HE KNEW WHAT THE MOLD RE MEDIATOR WOULD DO. THE ROOFER SAID HE WOULD INSTALL MORE VENTS TO GET RID OF THE PROBLEM, BUT WANTED US TO PAY FOR THEM. THESE THINGS SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE ON THE ORIGINAL INSTALL, WE DO NOT FEEL THAT WE SHOULD BE CHARGED. HE HAS BEEN RUDE AND UNHELPFUL, AND WE ARE EXTREMELY DISPLEASED.

"I AM RESPONDING TO THIS COMPLAINT NOW BECAUSE I JUST JOINED ANGIE'S LIST. THE MEMBER FAILED TO MENTION A FEW FACTS. I AND THE CITY BUILDING INSPECTOR TOLD HER THAT IT WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA TO REMOVE THE POWER FAN BECAUSE THE HOUSE HAS A HIP ROOF. HIP ROOFS ARE DIFFICULT TO VENTILATE. BUT I GLADLY REMOVED THE POWER FAN AND INSTALLED RIDGE VENTILATION WITH NO CHARGE. A ROOF NEEDS TO HAVE ROOF VENTILATION AND SOFFIT VENTILATION. AFTER INVESTIGATING THE SOFFIT VENTILATION IT WAS LEARNED THAT THEY HAD HIRED A SIDING CONTRACTOR THAT INSTALLED SOFFIT VENTS WITHOUT CUTTING THE ORIGINAL WOOD SOFFIT, THEREFORE NOT LETTING AIR INTAKE. I DID GIVE THE MEMBER A SEPARATE PROPOSAL ON CORRECTING THE IMPROPERLY INSTALLED SOFFIT VENTILATION THAT WAS NOT IN THE ORIGINAL SCOPE OF THE PROJECT. I DO REALIZE ITS NOT EVERY DAY A HOME OWNER INSTALLS A NEW ROOF. I AM ALWAYS HAPPY TO SPEND EXTRA TIME WITH A HOME OWNER TO EDUCATE THEM ON PROPER ROOFING PROCEDURES AND QUALITY MATERIALS NEEDED TO HAVE A LONG LASTING ROOF. AFTER INSTALLING ROOFS ON RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL BUILDING FOR THIRTY PLUS YEARS, I BELIEVE THIS MEMBER IS THE ONLY ONE I KNOW OF WHO WAS NOT COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH THE QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM OF GABOR ROOFING. JERRY GABOR AND GABOR ROOFING COMPANY DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB WITH THE ROOF WORK ON MY HOME. VERY PROFESSIONAL, EXTREMELY EASY TO WORK WITH,AND THE PRICES WERE MORE THAN REASONABLE. I'M RECOMMENDING GABOR ROOFING TO EVERYONE AND WILL DEFINITELY HIRE HIM AGAIN. HE IS TRULY THE 'SALT OF THE EARTH'.
