I made the first call for a quote, Jerry was out within a few days, and the work was completed within a week of the quote.

They didn't put the seal strip on my shingles, and now my shingles are blowing off of my roof. They joked around on the job, and didn't pay close attention to their work. They didn't clean up and I had to clean up nails all over my driveway. I will not use them in the future and suggest others to stay away.

I noticed shortly after our purchase that there was discoloration on the interior wall of my home. I called a home warranty company and they hired a roofing company to observe the problem. He said that the warranty will not cover the problem because the roof was originally done wrong to begin with. The roof was initially installed incorrectly. I was sent a list of specific items and diagrams of a roof showing specifically what was wrong. The roofer from the warranty company said he was happy to fix the problem, but would not be covered by the home warranty. I kept the diagram and list of items that were incorrect for proof in writing. I contacted the city to figure out what company had pulled the permit to do the roof. I was informed it was Bidwell. I contacted Bidwell and told them I was having a problem with the improper installation of the roof and asked if they could fix it. First, they had no record of who I was and I gave them the previous owners. It took them over a week to find these documents. He was starting to show frustration and the initial contact was rude. Bidwell found the file and mentioned that it was outside of the warranty because the roof was installed on Dec. 21, 2007. Because I was contacting him just outside of the year (March 09). I told him that I didn't believe it was a warranty issue, it was an installation issue. I told him I have another roofer that had given me a written diagnosis of the problem and the proof of the incorrect install and Jerry said, "I don't know you, I don't know this other roofer and you don't even know the address because you misspelled your street name and you weren't the one that hired me! If you have a problem, I don't know what you want me to do for you. Call the general contractor!" I didn't see how any of this was relevant, he said he didn't owe me anything and I was starting to sound like his sister. I originally called the general contractor and he has not called me back. I called Jerry again and said that I can't reach him. My father-in-law called Jerry as well and Jerry decided to come take a look. He was called on a Friday and came out on a Tuesday the following week. I don't even think Jerry climbed up on a ladder! He said it looks fine to him and said that it was probably a siding issue. He dismissed me eagerly, he said he would go to his office, look at the manual and see what the other roofer had documented. I have not heard back from Jerry since. I have called the Chamber of Commerce, apparently the GC that hired Jerry won't contact the Chamber of Commerce back. Jerry thinks he owes me nothing because I didn't hire him the general contractor did. Everyone is pointing a finger and no one will help us fix the problem or take responsibility for the shoddy roof that was done wrong from the start. If this is Bidwell's standard business practice, they obviously don't stand by their word and I don't want them near my roof. May 1, 2009 follow up: They eventually sent someone out to repair the roof. It appears to have stopped leaking, but we can?t be certain until after a full season. We do appreciate that they did come out but we don't appreciate that it had to come down to this.

He came out and showed up on time and told me his work did not correct the problem he would come back out take care it for no charge. He did end up coming out a second time and fixed a separate problem free of charge. The work was great and a he was a pleasure to work with and the price was right. I would recommend him to anyone.

The roof looks good but I was not happy with them. They left garbage all over and there was poor communication from them. We never knew when they were coming or going and the job took longer than they had said. I would not use them again.

I contacted Jerry about the chimney but in the course of our discussion I was happy to learn that Bidwell also replaced doors. Both jobs were done on time, efficiently, and to my specifications.

They did a good job - the only thing was that they told me they would be here Friday, didn't call all Friday, and showed up Saturday and did the work. But overall it was good!

We had someone come to the house three times to give us estimates on different jobs that we hope to accomplish. Jerry worked with us to get the specific items that we wanted. The clean-up of the roofers was terrific. The men that installed the soffits didn't do such a good job of cleanup. Wood shavings and screws were everywhere. We will finish the house with vinyl siding in the spring and surely we will use Bidwell again.

I had called Jerry this past summer to get an estimate so that I could start saving for the project. After a few months, I started calling around again and selected Bidwell after obtaining 4 other quotes. Jerry came out again so that we could make sure that I would get what I expected. Both times he showed up on time and I signed the contract and mailed it back to Bidwell. They were scheduling a few weeks out so I wasn't surprised when he called 2 weeks later to say the workers were coming over. The weather turned the next day so they ended up showing up the following week and completing the job over several days. All in all, I am happy with the value and appearance of their work, as they were quite a bit lower than the next estimate I made sure to detail what I wanted and I never had any problem getting a hold of anyone at Bidwell. They even reattached the house number and flag stand to the porch rails that had just been sided.

DEPOSIT CHECK CASHED 4-27. ESTIMATED DATE OF COMPLETION, 5-10. AFTER 5 CALLS TO FIND OUT WHERE THE CREW WAS AND WHEN WORK WOULD BE COMPLETED, SERVICEMAN SHOWED UP ON JULY 21 WITHOUT THE MATERIALS TO COMPLETE THE JOB. WATER DAMAGE TO CEILING WAS WORSENED, BECAUSE OF THE 3 MONTHS OF WAITING FOR THE JOB TO BE COMPLETED.

1. DID NOT TAR PAPER ROOF WHICH CAUSED DRYWALL DAMAGE. 2. DENTED THE SIDING. 3. TOOK SEVERAL WEEKS TO START JOB AFTER PROPOSED COMPLETION DATE-ONLY THREE DAYS OF RAIN/BAD WEATHER. 4.POOR INSTALLATION-AGAINST SEVERAL MANUFACTURER RECS 5.BEN THREATENED ME AND USED BAD LANGUAGE WHEN I TOLD HIM I DID NOT WANT THE INTIAL CREW TO COME BACK. 6. ASKED BEN THAT NONE OF THE CREW SHOULD COME BACK. 7.CREW CAME BACK AND BARGED INTO MY HOUSE UNWELCOME AND PHYSICALLY THREATENED ME. 8.THEY WERE HEAVY SMOKERS WHO DID NOT CLEAN UP CIGARETTE BUTTS OR DEBRIS THEY LEFT IN NEIGHBORS' YARD. 9.USED FOUL LANGUAGE COMMONLY. 10. QUOTED ME ONE PRICE AND CHARGED $1,600 MORE-AND TOLD ME I WAS GETTING A DEAL. 11. WOULD NOT RE-NEGOTIATE PRICE BECAUSE THE ONE OWNER SAID HE SPENT TOO MUCH MONEY ON THIS JOB. 12. BECAUSE BEN, AT BIDWELL, DID NOT WANT TO PAY THE INTIAL SUBCONTRACTORS (AFTER SAYING THEY DID DO A GOOD JOB) A SUBCONTRACTOR IS TRYING TO SUE ME. JERRY ONLY RETURNS 1 IN 4 CALLS. THEY ARE TERRIBLE!!!!

JERRY WORKED THROUGH MY REQUIREMENTS, OVERSAW THE WORK AND CREWS AND KEPT HIS WORD FOR ALL WE AGREED UPON IN THE CONTRACT. HE EVEN HAULED AWAY A ROOFTOP ANTENNA THAT WAS REMOVED AND A METER POLE THAT WAS REPLACED WHEN METER / ELECTRICITY WAS UPGRADED TO 100 AMP SERVICE. I WOULD DO BUSINESS WITH HIM AND BIDWELL AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.

THEY WERE LATE GETTING STARTED. THEY ARGUED WITH ME ABOUT USING A DIFFERENT MATERIAL THAN WHAT WED ORIGINALLY AGREED UPON. THEN IT TOOK THEM FOREVER TO GET THE JOB DONE.

THEY FELT PUT OUT TO MAKE THE JOB RIGHT. THEY DEMANDED PAYMENT BEFORE THEY LEFT THE JOB SITE AFTER THEY MADE THE LATEST ADJUSTMENT.

USED FOR A TEAROFF AND RE-ROOF OF HOUSE. QUALITY NOT UP TO EXPECTATIONS. SHOWED UP LATE, WITH LESS WORKERS THAN THEY SAID SO JOB TOOK TWICE AS LONG. PROBLEMS WITH THE FINISHED PRODUCT WAS MESSY AND HAD PROBLEMS. HAVE NOT COME BACK TO FIX IT.
