Great Service!

I called John on a Saturday to report our computer had been infected with a virus and other malware/spyware. He came to our house promptly on Monday afternoon. He attempted to fix our computer on site but had to take it back to his office for the repair. He returned Wednesday morning with the computer. Everything was fixed except for 2 items. Our email address book was missing and the system had no audio. He returned on Thursday morning with the address book info on a disc and upon inspection of the system found the audio plug had been installed incorrectly. Great service, great price. Highly recommend.

He returned the computer at 8AM the next day as he indicated and the hard-drive was virus-free. John had satisfied all expectations in a courteous, efficient and punctual manner. And the fee was a bargain.

John responded quickly to my email and was able to come out to my house shortly after I contacted him. John had experience with the virus and was able to get it cleaned off quite quickly. The remainder of the time was spent cleaning off my previous antivirus software as well as the various tools I had recently loaded trying to combat the virus myself, then loading his preferred protection software. Although the price is not cheap, it was better than continuing to waste my time getting nowhere. Also, I liked that John charges a fixed price so I knew what I was getting into up front. John was very knowledgeable and pleasant. I would definitely call him again if I have computer issues.

I've had several companies service my computer in the past. John Wyman was by far the best ever. I highly recommend him. His work is excellent. I am having him do more work on my wife's computer. They were able to come out and service our computer on a Saturday when we called them. They had it fixed and returned to us the very next day, which was a Sunday.

John Wyman has been providing us with superb support for our home pc & laptop set up for years. This time our laptop was having lockup problems which John quickly addressed but noted that the tower on the pc was very noisy and would require a replacement soon. John provided estimates with options for refurbished or new tower from which we selected one (he always provides exact pricing and discusses advantages/disadvantages by price range so you can make an informed decision); John ordered and installed a replacement tower, timely, per the estimate. Once again, we were greatly satisfied with his responsive, timely actions and John's continuing uncanny ability to provide "computer speak" details, in a diplomatic manner that a layman can understand without any appearance of condecension. As usual, if I have any future questions, John is literally a phone call away and encourages us to call him--there are no additional charges for often lengthy telephone consults.

He came when he said he would, was not expensive, and it worked out quite well.

John was great to work with, did exactly what we asked. The price was reasonable for what he did for us. John was responsive and always arrived on time.

He fixed it for us. I called him on a Saturday, he came out within 30 minutes. I called 2 other people and no one responded. He had an instant response. I could not be happier with his service.

My computer drive and its external drive failed. He picked them up. I told him they had critical data, custom programs and settings. I said I had other multiple, partial backups. (I'm an experienced computer user and database programmer...) I expected him to try to recover the data, an uncertain and difficult process. I expected to buy new disks and transfer the recovered data to them. A few days later he phoned. He had spent a lot of time recovering some of the data. He got the computer running by completely wiping out the disk and reinstalling Windows. I gulped, because that meant that he had eliminated the possibility of recovering the settings and data from that disk. (Meanwhile, I had found that my other backups did not include a critical data table and some hard-to-recreate programing.) When he delivered them, he said that he never asked customers before he reformatted disks. No time to call and get their response. The data he recovered from the external drive was useless because it did not include the file headers needed to restore the backup data. (Instead of the "FIXED RATE $125.00 PER COMPUTER + PARTS" he charged me $200.) I tried to rebuild the drive from the surviving partial backups on another machine and off-site. After 6 weeks working full time, I myself discovered how to restore from the hard drive of the failed external drive. I called him twice to pick up the hard drive he had lent me (with it's unusable data.) When I told him what had happened, we agreed about how hard his job is. He said he would change his practices to tell consumers before taking their computer that he may not be able to save the data. But he said he would not explicitly get their permission before reformatting (erasing) their disk. After eight weeks, my primary computer is still not fully restored. I can't say for sure that I or someone else could have recovered all the data and settings if it hadn't been unnecessarily wiped out, but I can say that consumers shouldn't trust their hard drives to him. He wouldn't even consider giving me back my money. (My first bad experience with an Angie's recommendation, after many impressive discoveries.)

I would recommend this company. They were very professional and prompt. The owner really seemed to know what he was doing. I had hired a few companies to try and fix the problem and weren't able to do it. Wyman consulting was able to fix it the first time they came in.

Overall experience was excellent, price was very fair for the work done and the results. I have already recommend John to friends.

John used the model on my old PC to determine that the unit was older than I realized (purchased used about 4 years ago). Recommended Dell Vostro 200. Worked through options on order by phone. PC setup in my home was successful with transfer of my data.

Wyman Contractors returned my call right away and set up an appointment for the following day. He was prompt, business-like and really knew computers. Our computer was fixed, additional drives installed. The contractor was available for additional calls after the service, but it wasn't needed.

My computer crashed and I thought I may have lost everything. John was able to recover the main hard drive entirely. Unfortunately my secondary hard drive was pretty hosed and John could not recover the data from it. I may be sending that out to a more specialized recovery service.
