RBK REMODELING

RBK Remodeling should not be used under any circumstances. The workmanship was poor. The owner, Knute Hoepman abandoned the job, and we had to pay to have tiles removed and reinstalled as well as finishing the job. Unreliable and dishonest.

They have done a terrific job. Extremely responsive through the entire process. Did a good job of keeping costs down when unforeseeable problems arose during the project.

It was terrible. Overall Knute contracted to paint several ceilings, and the kitchen and dining room walls as well as install a backsplah on 3 kitchen walls. The painting done by his employees was completed and was fine - about what I could do myself. Knute, however, disappeared after promising to have everything done by Christmas of '08. We paid him in full because we had to order a few more tiles and he swore he'd be back to finish the job. We unfortunately trusted him. I have emailed many times and left voice messages but no response. Now we have to get another estimate to finish the job and take Knute to small claims court. Another contracter looked at the work (but has not yet provided an estimate) and said "whoever did this work did not know how to set tiles".

This is the first time I had done any home remodeling, and I didn't know what to expect. Knute gave me a very reasonable quote, and once I accepted his offer, he worked with me to schedule the installation as soon as possible. He and his team were fast, efficient, punctual, and solidly invested in their work. At some tough spots where I encouraged them to take shortcuts, knowing I'd never see the difference, Knute insisted that it be done the right way, and continued to work on the spot until he was satisfied that it had been done as best as possible. Everything was kept clean throughout the process, and he even gave lots of tips on everything from fixing our toilet, to a super cheap and easy way to enhance our molding.
