MCALLISTER PHOTOWORKS INC.

I have been going to McAlister Photoworks for a few years and spent hundreds of dollars on prints/enlargements. The product is good. My complaint is about the owner, Paul Clutter. He has always ignored me, never says Hello and actually looks the other way or moves to the back of the store as soon as I enter. And yet anyone else who comes in, Paul Clutter is always friendly and talks quite nicely with them. You see I have Brown skin. He seems to only show his nice friendly side to all the White customers. He has demonstrated this behavior differential with me over the years and I’ve tried my best to ignore him. However, Employee 1 and Employee 2 are quite helpful and always friendly. There’s another guy usually near the printers in the back and even he has come to the front and assisted me with my pictures. About 2 weeks ago I ordered an enlargement, 16X20 family wedding picture for an existing frame. When the print was ready, I brought the frame in and as soon as Paul Clutter saw the frame and picture, rudely comments ‘Oh that won’t fit! The enlarged picture fit perfectly since I had taken measurements! May 22, 2021, we were in McAlister to order another enlargement of 24X36 family wedding picture. I had copied the original file from the photographer to a USB and had the external hard drive with the original. I had some trouble at the kiosk with the picture, so Employee 3 came to assist. She also had issues so she went to the back and talked to Paul Clutter with my USB. He was trying to find the pic and then turned to me and asked in very condescending tone “Do you know how to use a computer?’ I’ve never had anyone ask me that question. Keep in mind I had brought a USB and an external hard drive into the store. I did not dignify that question with a response. Any way the female employee had the picture on their screen to show me. I asked if it was okay for me to come to the back and she said yes. Paul Clutter however commented ‘Oh let me get away from here’ as if I have a disease. I commented ‘We have both been vaccinated’ and we were wearing masks. I was planning to order an enlargement mounted on foam core for $89.00 and had an estimate of $385.00 for framing. Paul Clutter’s behavior towards me cost his business $474.00 and any future business from me. I will Never Ever return to McAlister Photoworks at 6466 Sawmill Road, Columbus, OH! You the reader decide if this is discrimination/racism.

Work was completed in a timely and professional fashion. They did a great job.

There was a misunderstanding with my order and it ended costing me more. The quality of their enlargements were very good.

McAlister Photoworks is the BEST place to get your camera prints (digital and non-digital) printed! There ARE differences in photo development printing and printing of your digital pictures. I have used another 'famous' photo store in Columbus and the quality of their prints is far beneath McAlister! Also, your local 'discount' stores and pharmacies are not nearly as good as McAlister either. There are differences in how often the liquids are changed, how often the machines are calibrated, etc. Also the photo paper makes a big difference. It is 'all the rage' to print your photos at home on your own printers. Well, the ink price, alone, is astronomical. Also, with time your 'home-printed' photos will fade. Avoid all of ink/printer hassles and costs and just go to McAlister's and you will be AMAZED at the quality you get!

THE HIGHEST QUALITY ONE HOUR FILM PROCESSING EXPERIENCE! NOT A CHAIN, VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE STAFF. HELPFUL WITH ALL QUESTIONS AND WELL INFORMED ON THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY. EVEN STAYED OPEN A FEW MINUTES LATER THAN CLOSING WHEN I PHONED TO SAY I WAS ALMOST THERE BUT STUCK IN TRAFFIC.
