While friendly and prompt in starting work, they claimed that a major project at the nearby airport resulted in not having enough cement to finish the project in one fell swoop, which meant the driveway work they started was half dry by the time the other half of the cement arrived. This in turn affected the appearance of the final product, giving the drive a dark and light variation, and also an uneven rough surface on top and a poor finish quality. I tried to ignore it at first, thinking it would "age" into the right look, but after a couple weeks it was obvious this was a permanent problem. Friends of ours who are contractors in different specialties would comment unprovoked on the poor workmanship. I called Kilbury to address the concern, and they said something about a surface treatment to fix it, but they never returned to do the work. What I have now is not horrible looking, but it clearly looks like it was a botched job, and I'm sure that will affect my home resale price to some degree. What bothers me the most about Kilbury is that despite the fact that we raised this concern, they did not have the professionalism to want to make it right. The drive should be torn out and replaced at their expense. But honestly, I'm not sure I would want them doing the work because when you look at the edges and corners, there is sloppiness in the way they finished the cement, and that would probably still be a problem even if they replaced the whole thing.
Description of Work: We hired Kilbury to tear out an asphalt drive and replace it with a cement driveway and patio, plus necessary detail work to cut existing bricks to match new driveway borders.
