We had a water main break and because it was near the sidewalk the city had to come out and inspect it - after they determined that it was our part of the line to fix, they had to shut off our water because it was creating a safety hazard (water was covering the sidewalk in freezing temperatures). I called three companies for quotes and while two of them suggested it would be several days until they could actually repair it (it was a Thursday when the city finally came out to determine whose responsibility it was), Eger trenching came and said they could do the work Friday morning. They gave me the city number to call to initiate the digging approvals to ensure that they could start in the morning if I chose them. They came Friday morning and dug up yard without damaging or demolishing the sidewalk (other two companies said sidewalk would have to go) and replaced the water line, which was fully inspected by that afternoon and we had water back for the weekend. They were timely, responsive, professional, gave me good information and were certified by the city to replace the line. I would definitely use Eger trenching again.

On my first call to Eger Trenching I talked with Mike Eger's wife. The main business number seems to go to their place of residence. She took down my details and said that Mike would call me that evening or the next morning. Mike ended up calling back the next morning. I was at work so he left a message. When I called him later that day, we discussed the work that needed to done and he said that he would come by the property later in the day or the next business for confirm the parts needed to complete the replacement. I assumed that he call me back after visiting the property so we could schedule an install date and time, but a week past and no call back. So I called the main number and got Mike's wife again. She was quite surprise that Mike didn't call me back about the distribution box replacement work. She understand my concern and told me Mike would call me back later that day. Mike called me back later that day to schedule the work the next business day around 9 am. When woke up that morning at 10 am, they (Mike's son Brian and another gentleman) had already removed the old distribution box. Both of them were very pleasant and even described general process of the replacement. They hand dug everything so there was minimal damage to the surrounding grass. They were finished with the work by noon. Since I having no experience dealing with septic systems, so it is hard to gauge the workmanship of project. I can only say that I haven't had any problems with the septic system in the month since the work was completed. Other than the small lapse in communication, working with Eger Trenching was pretty painless.

Mike responded quickly to my call, gave an estimate, did the work in one day a few days later. Very helpful and professional. Contacted city and arranged everything properly. Moved up the work by a day in response to my concern about continued leaking in the basement. Price was considerably better than the one other estimate I got. He told me what to expect in terms of damage to our landscaping. I hope I don't have to get this sort of work done again, but I'd definitely call him and recommend him to others.

The job went great. Mike and crew came out in late May and dug the basement, removed an old block septic tank, and installed a new septic tank. Mike shot graded our backyard and designed and submitted a leach field to the county for approval. After the design was approved Mike, Brian, and Jim came back out and put in the leach field and graded the backyard. After putting in the field they went ahead and hauled in gravel and backfilled around my basement for me and graded out the mess that I had already made of my backyard. The whole crew was courteous, friendly, and very helpful at all times. They were great to work with and I would not hesitate to hire them again.
