He had cancer, so we had to put him down. They let us stay in the room. That is a fabulous place. We took a couple of pets to the vet. He was just really a good dog, real gentle and stuff. Once he had to give it the final shot that put him down completely, the dog looked at him.

The people are competent and caring, but the practice is set up to vacuum all the money out of your wallet. They recommend all kinds of services and especially add on costs to the service you request. They quote $400 for a dental exam, but charge $700, saying the have to run $300 dollars worth of tests to see if the procedure will be safe for the animal. This is just one example. We will never go back.

We had used her for 13 years and probably when we get a pet we will use her again. She's not cheap but she is worth it because she will go to the nth degree to take care of your pet. It's your choice which treatment you get. She is also an instructor at LSU and she is just on the high tech end of the latest and greatest. Anything to cure your pet or help your pet that way. It's your choice if you choose the treatments that way. Their care and the way they absolutely adore and love every pet that comes through the door. They are dogs and cats mostly. You can not get better veterinary care, you just can't.

If you hadn't had a dog for a while you really need to check with Angie's List for a veterinarian. I got this referral from my daughter. The veterinarian she referred me is wonderful and I really liked her but it was not her practice. She did not have any free of charges. What they do is they do the blood work for a new dog and an older dog. They told me that he needed to be neutered because they don't see dogs which are unneutered. That appointment was around $250. They called me about a week later and said that his lever level was a little bit high and since he had all the other levels normal, it was probably an infection. I felt that he's got a gum infection from periodontal decease because he just turned four years old. They wanted to do neutering first but I asked them why they wanted to do the surgery on a dog that had an infection. The owner came in and said that the neutering has to be done first. He got neutered and they gave antibiotic. I did what they told me to do even though it was against my gut feeling. They said that the dog would be running around and that it was a simple procedure of 10 minutes in and out and it will be done. I called them to find out what the total cost was going to be and I was quoted between $350 and $500 but when I went there they said it was $600. I was no way prepared for that kind of expense for a neutering job where I could have taken him to the humane society and spent less than a $100 to get him neutered. They told me that the extra $200 was from the original physical exam and lab works and things like that. They never explained that to me. When I went to pick him up they started explaining how dangerous the periodontal decease was. The original estimate was $700 for the teeth cleaning. She also said that we need to pull out some teeth because they were crooked and this will bother him later in life and that will cost between $1100 and $1300 at which point I knew I will never take him there again. I was thinking to myself may be she needs her house payment made or her Ferrari payment made but it's not going to be done by me. I took my dog home that night and he was very fit. When I took him out of the crate the next morning to give him his pain medicines he was covered in vomits and then I called the emergency service and they told me to wipe it off and bathe him, it was a nightmare. I say that he should not have had the surgery done before the periodontal work was done. I think they were just trying to get as much money as they could get away from me because they knew that I would not wait for the periodontal work to be done. I thought she was a very caring doctor but all in all I felt taken. I felt like I learnt a really expensive lesson. I will never refer them and never use them.

Exceptionally caring staff and veterinarians. I didn't know much about dogs and puppies and the quality and time spent sharing information with us was superior.

Drs. Bater and Burke are the only vets I will trust to examine and treat the four legged members of my family. They treat my family and pets as of they were their own close family. All my pets love them (as do I). They have performed life-saving services to both my cat and my dog. They thoroughly explain everything they do and get consent before they proceed. Their cost estimates are always right on and they know what they are doing. Last year when my cat got a urethral blockage that brought him to the brink of death before we realized something was wrong, they corectly diagnosed and did emergency surgery that saved his life and even stayed with him in their office on two consecutive nights. The subsequent necessary surgery wwas going to cost $5000+ at Medvet (a fine hospital by the way), which was more than we could afford, Creature Comforts found an alternate very competent surgon who did the surgery for around $550. Creature Comforts is not cheap but they more than earn every penny they charge. Their knowledge, service, care, attention to every concern of the patient and owner are beyond compare. Don't take your 4-footed family members anywhere else for medical issues.

Drs. Bater and Burke have taken care of my dogs for nearly 15 years, and without question provide the highest quality of care I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Nearly a decade ago, their correct diagnosis, and treatment of arthritis in my Shepherd gave me 2 more quality years with her, and convinced me to never seek treatment elsewhere. This is a special practice, and we're very grateful to have it nearby.

They have done teeth cleaning, sick dog care, well dog care, and they have a great service for when a pet passes away. They are very loving, especially when you have a sick or dying dog. They make you feel like your dog is, or was, special to them. They are not cheap, but they are worth the cost and I have been happy with them.

Dr. Bater and her staff are thorough and dedicated to excellent pet care. If your animals are your family, then this is the place for you! The costs can be a bit higher than other vets, but we get what we pay for in her intellect and explanations in addition to exceptional care for our fur-kids.

THE VETS WERE EXTREMELY CARING FOR BOTH MY PET AND MY FAMILY. THEY OFFERED EXCELLENT ADVICE AND SUPPORT FOR HOW TO DECIDE WHEN ADDITIONAL RESTORATIVE CARE WAS NOT IN MY CAT'S BEST INTEREST. THEY MADE THE REMAINDER OF HER LIFE COMFORTABLE AND SUPPORTED US DURING THE DIFFICULT PERIOD OF DETERMINING WHEN IT WAS BEST TO EUTHANISE. THEY EVEN CAME TO OUR HOME FOR THE FINAL SESSION SO OUR CAT COULD PASS IN A FAMILIAR AND COMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT FOR HER. THE ENTIRE STAFF AT CREATURE COMFORTS IS EXTREMELY CARING, KNOWLEDGEABLE, SKILLED AND GENTLE. THEY TREAT MY PETS AND MY FAMILY AS IF WE ARE PART OF THEIR OWN FAMILY. THEY PROVIDE THE BEST OF CURRENTLY AVAILABLE MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT. THEY PROVIDED SYMPATHETIC AND EXPERT COUNSEL AS TO WHEN IT WAS BEST TO BEGIN HOSPICE CARE INSTEAD OF TREATMENT. THEY WENT FAR BEYOND WHAT WOULD NORMALLY BE EXPECTED WHEN THEY CAME TO OUR HOME TO EUTHANISE OUR PET WHEN WE DECIDED HER QUALITY OF LIFE HAD DETERIORATED TO THE POINT THAT IT WAS IN HER BE
