Arica Thomas - Violin & Piano Lessons

We had her teach our son piano. He developed more interest and practices by himself, so instead of being a chore he has to do, he ended up with an interest he can continue to develop.

My son has been taking violin lessons for a little over a year now. He has fallen in love with playing thanks to Arica's guidance. I actually look forward to listening to the new songs he assigned each week. She has the patience to deal with children of all ages, the kindness to accept each child as an individual, and a passion to share her incredible vast knowledge. Arica is always willing to be flexible and great at communicating. She is worth every penny!

I am a beginner violin student learning violin with Arica. I have never played any instruments in my life before and Arica has been teaching me more than a year now. She is really patient with me always. She has great teaching methods and insight. And overall she is just really nice and very good teacher to have.

My daughter switched violin teachers to come to Arica and the difference was amazing. She teaches the theory and the music which was not being taught before. This helped my daughter understand what she was doing. She is a wonderful teacher and would highly recommend.

I started taking lessons from Arica over 7 years ago as a child and she has helped me grow every step of the way. Starting with the fundamentals such as reading sheet music, learning scales, understanding how notes correspond with keys, proper technique, etc., Arica always makes it simple so that you can absorb what you learned in one lesson and use it in the next. She is great at increasing your abilities by introducing new concepts and more challenging pieces as you build on what you have learned while always making sure you are comfortable in the level of difficulty. The resources she uses are extremely helpful and even at times provide history into the piece or movement you are playing, which is great in sharpening your musical knowledge. She works with students of all ages and always tailors the lesson and pieces to the individual so that there is always something new and exciting to be played. Very personable, knowledgable, flexible and affordable, I would certainly recommend Arica to anyone wanting to take violin or piano lessons.

She gave piano lessons to my middle schooler. She taught in a way that made it easy for him to pick it up. He made great progress in the 7 months that he took lessons. She taught with her baby on her lap but this didn't end up being a distraction or problem. She was very flexible with the schedule if he needed to move a lesson for a school commitment or doctor's appointment.

Arica is a wonderful piano teacher. My children have been taking lessons from her all summer and will continue to do so. What I love most about her is that she doesn't ask you to buy expensive materials and her hourly rate is well worth it. Arica is flexible, and always answers any questions. She is professional and always has a kind word and a smile on her face.

Mrs. Thomas does a beautiful job teaching our girls to excell in their piano endeavors. She chooses challenging but attainable music for lessons and longer-range goals. She is always running precisely on time, conducts her lessons in a very professional manner and the girls very much enjoy their time with her. Arica has been giving my daughter piano lessons for about 2 years. Arica is extremely kind and patient. My daughter is super sensitive and a perfectionist and Arica has always handled her kindly and gently while still encouraging my daughter to persevere. Additionally, Arica has been very flexible with our family when we have needed to reschedule.

Arica is an AWESOME violin instructor. As long as you keep up with your practices you should do well. She knows the violin as she's been playing for many years! I promise that if you decide to have her teach you or your child, you will not be sorry.
