Olszewki Plumbing

Everything appeared perfect until the shower head started leaking from the ceiling close to where it screwed into the wall. I called them several times over a period of ten days and got no response. I finally talked to Lowe's plumbing expert, who told me how to unscrew the head from the wall. Instead of using Teflon tape, someone had installed the pipe with grease only. I wiped off the grease, affixed Teflon tape and screwed it back into the wall. That fixed the problem. The material I wiped off was not plumber's paste (joint compound), but rather a light duty translucent grease like you might use on bicycle chains. I never heard of using that before on plumbing, so I suspect that the plumber did not do it, but rather the incompetent carpenter who finished the installation (He did a poor job on many other things, but that is another report). My complaint against this plumbing company is that they let the carpenter finish the job, did not inspect it, and would not reply to my requests for help. I later learned that they belatedly replied to the contractor, saying that their warranty had expired. The contractor was on vacation in Mexico, so he did not respond until I had solved the problem almost two weeks later. If the plumber had returned my calls (about 8 calls to both their office and cell phones), I probably would not be filing this report. Luckily, the wall and ceiling were made of such material that the leak, which was inside the wall and dripped out of the ceiling, did not damage the either. It just left some water stains.

It was a good experience. Olszewski showed up on time, worked quickly, and were friendly. The shower fixture we changed out needed a new valve body installed in the wall, meaning the old one had to be removed. Our shower walls are the single-piece faux marble/composite panel type. There was 6-7" hole around the valve body that looked like we'd have to cut drywall on the opposite side of the wall to gain access to change the valve body. Vic patiently worked through the hole and completed that job without having to open the drywall. The new supply lines run to the utility sink were neatly tied in to the existing lines and routed to the tub. I have seen some rough plumbing work and this was not it. Water flow through the new joints is smooth and quiet, meaning they did a nice job cleaning up the pipe ends and not just throwing them together with rough cut edges.

Very personable and excellent quality work. I feel that he is very responsive, flexible, has fair prices, honest and trustworthy. Have had him on several projects.
