I've been going to Oakside for about 8 years. Overall rating is A, I wouldn't have stayed with them for so long if they weren't so good. They provide quality work and are compassionate people. Even when my primary vet wasn't available, I was always able to get in to see someone else if it was urgent. If I get another pet, I would definitely plan on going back to them.

My pet recently died, but I was working Oakside Animal Clinic. They are just top notch. We have a local website where people can make recommendations and such. Anytime anyone asks for a recommended veterinarian, people always say Oakside, Oakside, Oakside. They are very good. They get an "A" for everything. I really can't fault them for anything. They were very responsive and sat down to talk to me about things. I have been going there for eight years.

The Oakside staff is amazing! I cannot say enough about how compasionate and wonderful they are! Dr Garey got down on the floor to examine my older (75 lb) dog, and it was absolutely clear that he loves animals. The exam turned out great, my dog is healthy considering her advanced age. I love Oakside and will continue to be a customer and will recommend them to everyone!

They are small and personal. They are easy to get to and they handle emergency situations that come up. We like them!

Annual shot visit. We are new to the area and used Angie's List to help guide us in finding a new vet. We were able to get into office fairly quickly. Overall the staff was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be returning. The office building is rather small, but sufficient. They have decent office hours. The overall cost appear to be of average cost. I was charged an office visit for shots, I have been to some other places, specifically Pet concern in Clintonville, that did not charge an office visit for annual shots. $42 office visit, heartworm test, two shots, nail clippings, six months of the heart guard, and two months of a new flea and tick product for a total of $201.

Dr. Garry and Dr. Diable are the most caring vets I've ever met. They connect with your pet and with the owner. They tell you their recommendation, but they don't pressure you in deciding what you end up deciding on doing. Their staff is knowledgable and friendly and normally gets you in quickly. Love, care and attention at a VERY affordable price. These are my vets and I would trust no other with the health of our beloved Schnauzer Grady.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Them. They have been my vets for years. They are extremely reasonable, and have a gift with animals. They are so knowledgeable and so kind to animals. They will not sell you on anything that is gimmicky. They give the pets the shots and care they need with no extra waste. They want to make sure all animals have a good vet to turn to.

We love Dr. Gary. Whatever he's told us has rung true. He's very knowledgeable and an extremely friendly person. Their price is cheaper than others.

There was a bit of a wait to get an appointment with this vet, so I would suggest not waiting until you have an emergency. If you are seeking a vet for regular care, get your pet in there now. It does appear that current clients get priority scheduling (which is perfectly fine with me!) My original appointment was just for one cat; but they did let me bring in both so they could be seen together.
My dogs picked up fleas from outside and brought them in to our cats, who do not go outside. One of the cats has a flea allergy and was really suffering.
Dr. Garey was very patient and helpful and answered all of my questions. I really wanted the cats treated somehow, but was encouraged to just allow the Frontline we had already applied to work. I also wanted to give the cats a bath, but was discouraged because they advised it was more stress for the cats and would not really help the situation. Either of these options were opportunities for them to "sell" me something, but they were clearly well-grounded in the best interest of my pets and discouraged me from inappropriate treatment. I did get some kitty steroids for the cat with the flea allergy, and worming pills for both cats. Both cats are doing much better.
Although other new patients would not have this same experience, I was delighted to find that one of the staff is well-acquainted with my dogs (I did not know she worked there prior to my appointment). Because of this, I was also able to get both of my dogs into the "system" and obtain an anti-flea medication for them without the additional efforts of bringing both of them in also. I found this very kind and genuinely appreciated the assistance, as dealing with a flea infestation in one's home is maddening and time-consuming.
I had sought a new vet due to some changes at our previous vet clinic which I believe contributed to the death of one pet and current flea situation (the dogs had been to the previous vet only weeks before and we were told emphatically that they "did not have fleas" when they clearly DID!) I am very satisfied to have found Oakside and Dr. Garey.

It went good. I had to run him in because he was almost not there anymore so I took him into the office. They took good care of him. They are really interested in what was going on with my dog. My pet has to be put to sleep for anybody to get near him. They have examined him before which is as close as anybody has come. I have a difficult dog and they know what they are doing.
