Horrible experience. My husband took his 2012 Toyota Camry vehicle in, on November 29, 2017, for a standard oil change. The shop stated they had completed the job, put 5 quarts of Valvoline Maxlife oil into the car, and that my husband could pay and leave. He paid $31.96 for the oil change. Two days after his oil change he noticed his auto engine was making unusual, loud, grinding noises. My husband drove the car home and into our clean, oil leak-free, garage and a few hours later went into our garage to find a puddle of oil on the garage floor plus an oil leak from the street into our garage. My husband checked his oil level in the auto (remember, he just had his oil changed by Munro Muffler 2 days prior) and the dip stick showed ZERO oil !! My husband was very worried that there was no oil whatsoever in his engine. My husband called Munro Muffler and spoke to the original mechanic that "supposedly" performed the oil change for which my husband paid and the Mechanic kept saying to my husband, "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry!" My husband contacted a local, licensed mechanic who has been in business for 30 years. The mechanic stated that if the dip stick showed no oil at all, that my husband should not drive the auto any more because it could irreparably damage the engine and that the auto had to be checked immediately. My husband paid $84.26 to have his auto TOWED to the mechanics shop. The mechanic placed my husband's auto up on the hoist and went to check the oil and he discovered that when he went to remove the oil cap , the oil cap almost fell off. The mechanic didn't even have to unscrew the cap to get it off. The mechanic got less than a quart of oil out of the car. The mechanic stated that the oil cap was NOT put on properly by the last person who replaced the cap and that the rest of the 5 quarts of the oil that was supposedly placed in the auto 2 days before leaked out of the auto because the oil cap was not placed on properly. My husband had to pay to have the 2d mechanic fill the auto AGAIN with 5 quarts of oil and to put in a new oil filter. The charge was $82.28. My husband drives his car to make his living and for an entire day it was with the mechanic so my husband lost an entire day's worth of pay! My husband called Munro Muffler and told them what had happened and asked if they would pay the total amount of the cost of the tow and the cost to have a 2d mechanic investigate the oil problem on the car and to CORRECTLY put oil in the auto ($166.54). My husband didn't initially ask for his lost wages for the entire day he had to go without his auto in order to have it repaired due to Munro Muffler's mistake in changing his oil. Munro Muffler stated that yes, they would pay for that to come back into Munro Muffler. My husband went back into Munro Muffler and asked if he could receive his reimbursement of $166.54 in goods there instead of in cash and the manager stated, "yes." My husband then went back to Munro and had them put tires on his auto for which my husband went to pay - minus the $166.54, which Munro said they would reimburse my husband for his costs of incorrectly not completing the oil change that they did. HOWEVER, Munro then said that they wouldn't reimburse my husband the entire amount of the extra $ he had to spend to correct Munro Muffler's mistake on his auto. My husband just wanted to be reimbursed the full amount that he was forced to pay to have his oil changed correctly, just 2 days after Munro Muffler didn't change the oil properly. Munro has refused to do this although they initially agreed to do so. My husband is now suing not just for the amount that Munro Muffler will not reimburse but also for the days wages that he lost due to what Munro Muffler did incorrectly on his auto.

I found a coupon online (for $25, I think), so I called and made an appointment for later that day. I arrived a minute or two late, and my oil change started within five minutes. Pretty punctual. The whole thing took almost an hour, but I've come to expect that from my experiences at dealerships. Probably could have been faster.
They ended up charging me extra b/c my car takes more oil than the deal was for. I've never had that happen before, but we just moved to town, so maybe that upcharge is standard around here. Also, they gave me a list of things to check/repair on the vehicle, which was helpful. They did not find the pinion seal that has been leaking for five years; dealerships find that every time. But otherwise, it seemed pretty thorough.
The waiting room is not dirty, but it's certainly not posh. They had a western playing on the TV in the corner and another customer was commenting about the movie the whole time. But I suppose that's what you get in a service shop waiting room.
