Lee Lafferty Heating & Cooling

Lee was competent and helpful throughout.  He installed a system that looks good and works well.  We have already recommended him to friends in the area.  We will ask him to do our a/c when it's time to replace it. 
The total time to do the job took several visits, but we were not without heat for more than half a day.

When I first called Lee it was extremely hot, mid to upper 90's and most shops had a waiting list.  Lee was on vacation in Michigan but answered and agreed to take a look at my furnace the next day after he returned from vacation.  He arrived at my house and quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the start capacitor on the compresser.
About a week later the blower in the house stopped working. We called Lee out again and he was able to diagnose another problem with the blower motor control board. Since it was a specific board and parts suppliers were closed Lee had to come back the next evening. He replaced the board, cleaned and did some preventative maintenance, and repaired a wiring problem he had saw the night before.  He is very professional and with great technical skills.  He tolerated my questions and looking over his shoulder and I would trust hm with any repair or replacement needed in the future.  From my experience with contractors and service people, Lee is somewhat unique, as he actually is at your house when he tells you he will be.

After our telephone call, Lee came to our home exactly at the time he said he would. He inspected our air conditioning system and concluded (thank heavens!) that the problem was nothing serious. We appeared to only need a small part. The problem was that all of the Heating and Cooling parts stores were closed for the July 4th weekend. Lee kindly offered to call a couple of parts stores where he knew the owners and ask the owners if they would open up on a holiday weekend just for him. Lee explained that this service would likely cost us an extra $100 to $150 to be paid directly to the parts store owner if the owner came in on a holiday vacation day. Lee explained that he felt that the part would run about $40 and his services to install the part would be about $60.Although it was in the upper 80's and very humid and we were miserable, we decided NOT to spend the extra $100-$150 to have a parts store open up on a holiday weekend and we would wait until Tuesday morning for the stores to open regularly. (We figured that we had to go to a hotel for the night because it was about 86 in our house and much too hot to sleep. We discovered that a nearby hotel, with a pool for our kids, was only $88/night so we figured that we'd rather spend $88 at the pool that night than an extra $100-150 for the holiday store opening.). On Monday, Lee promised that he would purchase the necessary part for our A/C and return on Tuesday at 5 p.m. to install it. On the very next day, Tuesday, I was making dinner and noticed the clock indicated 5:30p.m. and I hadn't heard from Lee so as I went to the telephone to call Lee, I looked out our back window and saw him already at work on our A/C unit. Lee came to the door to tell me that he had arrived at 5p.m. as promised and the work was complete - for us to turn on our A/C unit. It worked perfectly! Lee was very professional and honest and he arrived when promised and did the work very competently. We would recommend him without reservation. Job well done!
