GPG Painting

John Brake of GPGPainting was to paint 4 rooms and a hallway never return to do the fourth room, he never used a drop cloth on my wood floors splattered paint was found on my floors my granite countertops which we just purchased paint splattered on my wood chair railing I had scotch tape on my walls in the mud room which he said he would take care of it he actually painted over the tape when he was notified to come and finish the job he had every excuse as to why he couldn't come in when he did show up it was always at 8am and he left at noon with his mess for me to clean up he and his partner would vape which I have on video he propped my front screen do opened which he requested to keep the doors closed due to having pets and did not want them to get out. John was paid his money which he requested up front seemed like a nice guy but very unreliable and unprofessional DO NOT HIRE HIM OVERALL AN (F)

John Brake was running behind and did not start until 10/17. First thing he said was that he could not remove the popcorn ceilings only prime and paint them. When we arrived to inspect progress on 10/24 we found that he had switched the primer to a cheaper primer, watered it down to spray it on and had incomplete coverage. He had not caulked any of the woodwork or nail holes, he had not spackled or patched any damaged spots in the drywall and had not sanded any rough spots. He had painted 1 coat on the living room and 2 bedrooms. We noticed some areas where the paint was running down the walls and pointed this out. He claimed to have primed the woodwork and given it 2 coats but it looked terrible and we said it looked rough and needed at least 1 more coat. The house still smelled of tobacco use. We left and told him we would be back the next day. That evening he EMAILED us to say we were too critical and he quit. He took his stuff, left the paint and said that HE would take the loss. We were out the $830. We had advanced him. This was 4 days to move in! We started painting ourselves the next day, having to reprime and repaint many areas including some of the ceilings. We had trouble with the paint not adhering to the walls because of the primer he had used. It just ran down in sheets in some areas like cake icing. What a nightmare. John Brake is a very moody man and is one of the most unprofessional, fraudulent tradesman/contractor we have ever had to deal with. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN OR HIS COMPANY!!

The man that owns GPG Painting gave us a call to schedule an estimate that was convenient for us. He was prompt and thorough. After comparing his estimate with other competitors, we decided to use his company, as his price couldn't be beat, and had great reviews.

The job was scheduled to begin in a reasonable time frame, and they began promptly as discussed. He and his assistant power washed the entire house, painted all our house trim, shutters, removed the downspouts to paint trim, and garage doors. They even fixed the latch on our fence! They were very pleasant, and professional. We will definitely use them again!

Overall the work was completed 100% to my satisfaction. I would recommend GPG painting to anyone looking for an exterior or interior paint work to be completed. The estimates were 100% accurate and the contracts exactly defined the work to be completed. The estimates were also lower the other competing companies.
John was always on time and arrived very promptly. The worked completed as scheduled other than days where the weather prohibited.
I would recommend GPG Painting to neighbors/friends/family. I believe you would have a hard time finding a more quality painter with lower rates. My wife is pleased with the results and that's good :)

They sprayed painted the stucco and then painted all the trim and doors. I had a good feeling about John from the minute I met him. John is a stand-up guy as well as a great contractor. I will have John come back and do more painting.

From beginning to end my experience with John from GPG painting was outstanding. I had three estimates and John's was the best of all of them. I was able to visit another job he was just finishing close to my development and saw that his work was great.
John was there when he said he would be and finished on time. My neighbor who is a former home builder commented without being asked that the job was well done and that he watched John working and thought he did a great job making sure everything was caulked correctly before painting.
I will be hiring GPG to come and paint my finished basement this winter and again his quote is the best I have had. 1/3 better than the next in price and I already know the quality of his work.
I would highly recommend GPG Painting to anyone and have done so already.

John and his crew were professional and always showed up on time.  The house looked great when they were done.
