Have contacted Ohio Department of Commerce, Attorney General, and BBB regarding mortgage practices. Our buyer did not follow through with this loan. Found professional broker who provided a conventional loan based on good credit scores.
Description of Work: Began to process a loan for our buyer, stating it would be an FHA loan due to a "low" credit score. Then proceeded to have appraiser, appraise the home for a standard conventional loan, not FHA. When we questioned the appraisal, America's Mortgage Group, said the buyer all of a sudden qualified for a conventional loan. If that was the case, a new Good Faith Estimate should have been produced, but it wasn't. They did not reduce the interest rate or origination fees. Their appraiser also produced an appraisal of the property significantly higher than it should have been. (Approximately 25% more than the appraisal we used.) This outfit wants to produce phony appraisals to low-income applicants, so they can return for higher interest home equity loans. Shady organization.
